That Ten Hag must be a right idiot. Shaw's stitched him up like a kipper, ain't he Justin?
Sounds like you’ve just got a genuine dislike for Shaw?Liability again, but let's cut him some slack because he's had a few good games, it happens to the best occasionally don't you know.

Not one of his better games but he still played decently and wasn’t a liability for me.
Another Tellytubby wannabee performance from Shaw, the sooner EtH puts him out to grass the better.
It is, if it is like looking in the mirrorThat Phil Collins?
I don't think he's quite back to his very best which was probably 2 seasons ago when the team finished second and he was also excellent at the euros that summer but he's much improved from last season.
To me Malacia looks like a solid deputy but not sure he's good enough yet to take the starting spot off Shaw.
There's a big decision to be made on Shaw he's only got 12 months left on his contract at the end of this season so the club need to decide is he worth a new deal or do they look to sell him and replace him.
Gut feeling is they'll keep him as long as he's not demanding outrageous money.
The thing with Shaw is even at his very best there are still obvious flaws in his game, and he's made no effort to improve those areas of his game, and it's not as though he hasn't had more than his fair share of downtime to work on them.
If he's happy to stay around on reduced wages as backup to Martinez and Malacia going forward he'll be a capable squad option, but if he asks for a sizeable increase he should be moved on, and sharpish.
I guess it comes down to how many are actually better than him? He isn’t perfect but who would you say is the number 1 left back in the world right now? I hate to say it but in the last few years it’s probably Robertson you trust him on and off the ball but even this season he’s taken a step backwards and not looked the same.
Shaw isn’t going to take a pay cut but equally he shouldn’t get a massive bump up and that’s the issue. I don’t see him as a backup to Malacia i think he’s a better player but it’s not a huge gap.
The internet suggests he’s on 150k a week if he left he isn’t topping that anywhere else, you probably have to give him a bit of a bump 175k a week on a 3 year deal with an option but you probably can’t go much more than that.
If Shaw's positioning is so obviously poor, why isn't ETH doing something about it? The manager has shown that it's his way or the highway.
Sure it's not all in your head, Justin?
Yet ETH trusted his defensive skills in a Manchester derby against the best striker in the league? And ETH sees him everyday in training so Shaw must be doing something right.Having watched recordings of all United's matches from last season who was EtH's first signing? Yep a left-back.
There have been enough people of standing in the game who have pointed out his faults defensively, guess it helps if you know what you're looking for/at I suppose.

Signing a left back is irrelevant, Malacia was always brought in as a back-up to Shaw.
You don’t just put someone in defence because he’s left footed. He had options beyond playing Shaw there. If he didn’t rate his defensive abilities he would have had him nowhere near Haaland. And he actually had Haaland in his pocket all game. Would ETH have played Malacia as a centre half because he’s left footed? Of course he wouldn’t.EtH loves his leftie in central defence and with Martinez not available to start he had no option but to play Shaw there really, with the bonus being it kept him(Shaw) away from Mahrez who more than most would have exposed his shall we say hesitancy at fullback.
If he just wanted a backup he'd have gone with Telles and Williams.

You do know who Luke Shaw is, right? Slicked hair? Wears the #23 shirt? Generally bosses the left side? No? Didn't think so.
Got to question your eyesight at this point.Bang average again yesterday but at least he's taking my criticism on board ....

Another assist for the great man.
