Weird that they wouldn't register there €60m signing before some of the free transfers.
Unfortunately this was the case weeks ago.Kante out for a while. Think we need to look elsewhere
Apparently that's been squashed so it isn't that.Apparently travelling to Donny van de Beek's wedding. I'd expect Fergie to meet him at the airport with an open boot...Berbatov style.
Really? Romano said he was on a trip with Depay and their GFs and it wasn't transfer related.Apparently that's been squashed so it isn't that.
That is beyond insane. I cannot wait until the shell game that is FC Barcelona falls apart. Over 1bn in debt from signing players they cannot afford. Mortgaging their future for short term 'success.' They need to go to the wall for this.If the reports of him being on 700k a week this are correct I think he's outside of every clubs wage structure.
Probably makes him the best paid player in the world this season.

Not sure you can spend your way out of debt, and even if you could, any additional revenue the club would get from winning the league/progressing in the CL would be outstripped by putting players on 700k/week.
They've always had massive debt even when they were winning trebles. The revenues are growing but can't keep up with the outgoings in wages and transfer fees.
That'd make a bit more sense, but it's still outlandish. The 700k a week is slightly misleading for this season as this season and next is where they “pay back” the deferred wages from the last 2 seasons.
That's exactly why I have no sympathy for them. They created this debt, and the overinflated transfer market by spunking 140m on Coutinho and Dembele and giving them stupid wages. The pre Covid spending was ridiculous all those panic buys post Neymar plus Messi’s crazy salary meant they were spending a ridiculous amount on wages. They had revenues close to €1bn at one point and were still losing money.
Is 360k the way forward though? I'd think that's more treading water at best, but their ego is so big they feel the need to pretend that they're able to keep up with the Joneses that are the petrol clubs. Invest in the academy. Buy and develop young players with sell on values from South America who always seem to dream of Barca, and start selling to the English and petrol clubs who have more money than sense. If those players are any good they'll end up back anyway (Pique anyone.)They have got that back under some control the new players have all agreed reasonable wages none of them are the sort of salaries that were paid under the previous president. Lewendowski is reported to be on €360k a week which is big money but not crazy money.
I think this is their 1 shot to rebuild a side this summer next summer they won’t be as active in the market as the money is gone.

Building from the academy and developing those types of players makes sense to me. Being one of the highest spenders in Europe doesn't.
I don't think clubs like Barca/Madrid/United/Liverpool need stars. Their best players become stars, and the 'storylines' write themselves, but each incoming president wants to outdo his predecessor and ego plays a large part in the decision making process. Haven't watched lately, but usually the election is won by whichever candidate can promise the largest transfers, which just exacerbates the problem.
We should offer 75m€ and give them a deadlines in mid July. We can't accept another long saga that may end badly for us
We should look for Gravenberch for a lot less. He is unhappy with is game time at Bayern and Tuchel still refuse to give him a chance despite all the drama. He didn't get a minute in the 2 games against City.
