He is a fabulous talent who will probably lead Scotland to either the Euros title or the World Cup.Isn't he the Scottish lad on loan from Chelsea? Remember he had a good game against England in the Euros.

This should be his minimum level. He needs to be as good if not much better week in week out.Much improved today seemed to want the ball more and probably enjoyed the fact Burnley made the game end to end rather than trying to suffocate us by sitting deep it suits McT when the game is a bit more open.
Deserved man of the match but you have to factor in Burnley are a poor side especially in midfield he needs performances like this a lot more regularly.
One great performance doesn’t overshadow the other rubbish he puts out. We just tell it how we see it.Another monstrous performance from McTom, just a shame so many of our fans who decide before the game has started he's gonna be crap will be reluctant to admit it. Or you'll get the usual yeah but it was only Burnley bullshit.

I reckon he has it in him, if he really really wants it. Has he the drive?

If he can play like he did last night week in week out then we have one hell of a player. However, he doesn’t do that and is very inconsistent. Really liked the fact he was shooting from distant at every opportunity - he is a really good striker from distance and should be scoring more goals.
It’s irrelevant he’s from the academy, if he isn’t doing the business on the pitch then he will be criticised. He has more bad games than good, however he does have the potential to have very good games but he needs to add consistency to his game. Not buying that, seen the guy destroyed before(more on other forums granted) after he's had a solid 6/7 out of 10 performance, and the fact he's an Academy Grad and the significance of that goes over most peoples head sadly.
If he played like that every week he'd be the new Bryan Robson, and there's only ever gonna be one Bryan Robson, cue a song.

Ultimately we do need any upgrade on all our central midfield guys but he will be a good squad player to have.
Yeah that’s where the next stage of his progression comes in - he really needs to dominate like he did last night against the bigger teams. Some of his runs were so good, I wonder if Ralf has allowed him to express himself a little more? I did kind of feel he did lack confidence in his passing and runs but I definitely see signs of progression.Found some form but these are teams in the bottom half he has to dominate against these teams.
not an easy job to play in midfield in this side he grafted played a nice ball into Ronaldo in the build up to the second goal.

He is big and strong so has the ability to dominate games, really excited to see if he can really push on and get some consistency to his game. I think it does show when he isn’t in the team at the moment, ala against Villa.
I think that is a touch unfair. He tried to pass forward when he could and create something. Fred on the other hand.......Premier League: Manchester United 1-0 West Ham United - 22nd January 2022
Reverted to type when in possession. Too much sideways running with ball at feet.
I dunno the ref let loads go for both sides once he had his warning which is all that was needed he calmed down the conditions meant the ref had to keep his cards in his pocket as players were slipping and sliding all over the gaff.
In European matches though he won't get that luxury I think Atletico will target him and wind him up try to get him to lash out.
Playing in a more holding midfield role lately with the switch to the 3 man midfield I don't think it really suits him but it's a job someone needs to do so all he can really do is give it his best.
They'd be totally wasting their time, he's played 163 times for United(incl. 29 Champions League/Europa League matches), and 29 International for Scotland and he's never been sent-off. I know there's always a first time ....
If they want to get somebody at it they'll target Ronaldo, Bruno, Maguire or Shaw. You can almost guarantee Suarez will try and take a chunk out of one of them, with Shaw most likely as he carries more than his fair share of unwanted fat. Yummy.
Lets be honest you can take your pick in this team for players to wind up any of them could lose their head at any moment and do something stupid especially if the game is going against us.
