Dalot is better too but he cannot play both as a RB and as a LB in the same match. That is the big issue. ETH has said that he would have kept Regulion if the medical staff had not assured him that both Shaw and Malacia would be fully fit by end of `JanuaryReguilon never looked fully fit to me and think even he missed a few games through injury as he'd not played that much over the last few seasons.
I'd say Dalot has looked much better at left back than Reguilon.
What is going on with players rehab and conditioning does need looking at we've had 3 separate players suffer major set backs during their rehab this season.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, at the point that decision was made Utd had 3 of the 4 full backs fit and the 4th close to a return.
At the time it was the right decision to make.
Moreso because at the time EtH hoped he could use that extra loan-slot to bring in a centre-forward for cover. Because that didn't happen doesn't make not keeping SR on a mistake.
Could it be that it is an issue of the medical and the fitness team and not entirely on the players themselves?A new LB does seem like the smartest plan considering both of ours cannot stay fit. They've been out that long this season that it's now a case of them having to prove to the club that they are worth keeping. Losing my patience with Shaw, as it was close to him being fixed, and over the niggles, but no, they're back again. Bored of it. Feel bad for him, but stuff like this costs titles, and any potential chance of high placed finishes.
Think I'd spend big if necessary and let him try and win his place back, and if he can then great. If not, we will be fine and not left rotating literally any player we have left into that position. Amrabat having to play there was truly ridiculous.
I go backwards and forwards on that. Obviously we've had a massive amount of injuries this season, and it fits right in with what you're saying, and even I have thought the same. However Shaw's problems have always been there, they've obviously been a lot less frequent, but still there. I just feel like this is him again struggling to stay fit - his body is brittle. Malacia I do not know. It's probably mostly the same team of medical staff that dealt with them all the previous season, unless I'm missing something. I don't believe it was anywhere close to this bad then.Could it be that it is an issue of the medical and the fitness team and not entirely on the players themselves?
Wasn't necessarily thinking of keeping all three long-term, it's probably overkill. I just don't think the club trusts Malacia and Shaw at this point, and will end up buying a LB. It's been too much of a problem this season. When is enough, enough? I'd say in the summer. Although this story might not have any real foundation, it does seem like a realistic route.3 players in any position is alright if they are willing to be squad players. They will be willing to be squad players if we are winning trophies. To me it seems to be fashionable to play left footed players on the right and vice versa. It is very good if all the players accept that and pass the ball to team mates in better positions all the time. Now at Liverpool and City for sure they will because they know that the managers will drop them otherwise. Pep got rid of Zlatan because he would not play the way Pep wants him to play.
I actually think they WILL buy a left back and maybe sell Malacia. The bigger issue was the unavailability of AWB to play on the right. If he was available Dalot will play on the left until Shaw gets back. In my opinion we need someone to replace Bruno too.Wasn't necessarily thinking of keeping all three long-term, it's probably overkill.
