Erik ten Hag named new United manager

Yeah like I know what an Iron is ... you youngsters

It's all sack, crack and back and demanding your team wins, kin weirdos
The irony, truly staggering.
You carry on accepting failure.
I wont.
We are poles apart on expectations so maybe its best you take the mods advice and ignore my posts.

In the modern era where clubs with money have all the cards stacked in their favour a club like Utd should start every season expecting to challenge for every trophy.

You don't have to win every year but you have to be in the mix every year.

The challenge for SJR and the new board is how do Utd get things back into a position where that expectation is a reality? I don't think it gets fixed over 1 summer probably takes 2 or 3 but it feels like we are always 2 or 3 years away from getting back to where we want to be.

The problem is, every pigeon step we take, the clubs we want to rival take the same steps.

At some point we need to make an Ostrich step. Missing CL puts the step further away.

For now we just need to get in an around top 4, not all be over by christmas. Also, play some football that's nice to watch. Ultimately that will buy time from fans, certainly from me.

But that big step will mean selling big players, that will annoy some fans, buying some big players but also targetting young talent, like Chelsea did with Palmer. Although they spent a billion to find one gem :D

There are rumours Sesko is available for 50m

I don't accept failure, that's the dumbest thing you've said, and let's be honest you've said a lot of dumb things

I hurt a damn sight more when United lose than you do, I just don't feel the need to cry about it online when they do

Nah mate, you need educating, before it's too late ....

I don’t know what anyone else thinks but I was thinking we all club together and get JC a greatest United supporter badge?

Feels a bit agent PR rumour to me.

See people do still want me if you let me go.

The club itself is without doubt a huge part of the problem and it won’t be just a case of changing the manager, now that the likes of Woodward and the board generally are being changed things will improve in a big way.

Bayern may be looking to tick some boxes in the failures earned column. They haven't done as bad as ETH managed in a CL group stage in their history probably. Hard achievement to unlock.

Shot themselves in the foot letting Nagelsmann go. They had a manager for probably as long they wanted there. He's a Bayern fan I believe.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he’s been sacked tonight.
For the first time I thought he looked like a broken man on the sideline and the players looked like they quit on him. As bad as United have been they haven’t looked like they don’t care but today that happened.

Totally agree. It feels like the end is near.

So it is the final curtain and I hope he does it his way. Just bring in all the young players and give them a chance.
He should be why didn’t he yesterday? At 3-0 they didn’t have a lot to lose. Even at 2-0 they didn’t look like laying a glove on Palave.

this is his way, utter garbage, it's been his way for a long time now.

I do think it needs to change before the FA cup or we could make history, in the wrong way

I would be reluctant to play all the young players in the current environment. I’d like to see Amass instead of Wan Bissaka and maybe one or two others.

yeah, a proper coach and these palyers wouldn't be THIS Bad

that group should have been able to get a draw last night, minimum

I think there’s a case to change manager and hope for that new manager bounce? I don’t know who United could bring in but I’m sure they could bring in someone who would give most players a boost? Right now the FA Cup looks like an inevitable win for City. Anything can happen in Cup competitions but United look done.

Even wearing the rosiest red specs we are not winning that final, City will be pissing themselves laughing after watching last night's embarrassment.

There is definitely a case for making a change now and hoping there is some sort of new manager bounce but the injuries will still be here. What did anyone expect last night with Casemiro and Evans at centre back against a vibrant young Palace front line? Then you’ve got Eriksen protecting them who also can’t run.

There is a case for playing Amrabat back there and to be fair I thought he was our MOTM, as he did give a little bit solidity in the middle of the park.

Would an interim want to come in for a few games? You wouldn’t want to hire your new manager going forward for these 4 games. They would want to start a fresh next season.

I think ETH will be here for the remaining games and just got to hope we can get a few players back for the Cup Final. If we play the same defence as last night against City we are going to get massacred - Arsenal and Newcastle will be licking their lips coming to OT.

I agree with the defensive issues, we will be weak at the attack. That doesn't explain the absolute cluelessness with the ball going forward. We had plenty of ball before they scored and were useless with it.

As for the defence, Dalot should have played CB with Amrabat at FB. Even if you don't start like that, after the second you've got to change it
