Mourinho wants to also improve the Red Devils midfield. A few months ago an inquiry was made for Radha Nainggolan but there have been no additional steps forward, in addition the Belgian international prefers to stay at Roma. As alternatives Manchester United is also interested in Fabinho and Toni Kroos

It seemed for ages like we were in pole position for him when he was leaving Bayern but hard to tell if that was just paper talk or did Madrid come in at the last minute and take him.

He is exactly what we've needed in midfield but unless there's a fall out over money at Madrid I just don't see how we ever get him out of there. Why would he want to leave?

Fabinho feels like the most realistic target
