Rubbish.
Doesn’t matter VAR only steps in if the penalty is missed and a Chelsea player gets the rebound.
More proof as if it was needed VAR that isn't fit for purpose if true.
You talking to yourself?
Criticising your own ratings?
Running two accounts?
I wonder what @Justin Cider will make of these ratings?
VAR is only there to impose the rules refs only ordered retakes if pens were missed.
Horrible watch absolutely battered by our opponent but happy with the point but it shows how far away we are if we are playing this way against a top side.
Difficult circumstances lots of players missing let’s hope it is something we can build on and start climbing the table again
Why do you post such shite?Battered!? De Gea didn't break sweat. We could have played Paddy Roche,

And FIFA/UEFA have the power to help with that if they declare, as in a penalty shootout that if a goal is scored, or the keeper saves it/or the taker doesn't score that the ball is dead. And none of this rebound nonsense. You either score or you miss, end of.

Oh for sure Ronaldo has an impact on the way the team plays. But Keane is right that Ronaldo hasn't been signed to win the league with united. United right now are a cup team and will be for the next couple of years. United need to be prepared and ready to take over when City and Liverpool drop their level.I don't agree with Keane, I don't agree with the Ronaldo signing. I hate the way he is so selfish and that no doubt rubs off on the team, to not go and and thank the opposing players or even worse the travelling fans is unnacceptable.
These rules are only applied if the penalty is saved or missed if you score they aren't making you take it again because someone came in the box or the keeper stepped off his line. When it comes to encroaching you need to have got an advantage by doing it for VAR to intervene so if you get the rebound and came in the box it's eithe a retake (if the defensive team clears) or a free kick of the attacking team gets the rebound.
Same with the offside it needs to be deemed interfearing it's why last week vs Watford the retake was only ordered when they realised Utd had come into the box early and got the rebound.
Want to make penalties simpler just remove the rebound if the keeper saves it ball is dead and game restarts with a goal kick or you miss it's a goal kick simple.
They had 66% of the ball 24 shots, 6 on target, 15 corners, god knows how many touches in our box we defended well to stop them getting really good chances but we were on the ropes pretty much for the whole game. Utd had 3 shots 2 on target and 2 corners the ball barely went in their half and they gifted us our 2 chances on target Sancho goal and Fred's weak chip the only other shot was some shanked effort from Bruno from about 25 yards out.
A Utd side should not be getting dominated like that vs our opponent but we're in a rut at the moment so as a one off I've got no real problem with it needs must and all but we can't play like that moving forward.
As for the Keane and Carra stuff it's all for the cameras and both are kind of right in some of the bits they said but Carragher I think was right on what the main topic was Utd didn't sign Ronaldo to finish 4th and win cups. The truth I think is they signed him to stop him going to Man City no other reason other than that.
I don't know anymore, in non United matches recently across various Leagues where I don't care the outcome i've seen scored penalties retaken because the attacking team has players encroaching before the ball was struck, and saved penalties not retaken when it was obvious that the keeper didn't have at least one foot on the line.
Think it depends on the league having VAR.
I know with VAR even missed penalty is checked not sure if they check when you miss the target but when it’s saved they always check the keepers feet then they check for encroachment.
If you score though the ref should never make you take it again unless you stop your run up or if a player on your team has encroached so far that they can distract the keeper.
That's open to interpretation because how far is too far?
Well far enough that the ref or VAR thinks the player can be a distraction to the keeper so I'd say 2-3 yards inside the box and it's very unlikely that this ever happens.
There will still be debates about whether a penalty should be given, what should be allowed when the player approaches the ball, and what should be allowed after the kick has been taken in 50 years time and VAR will be coining it in.
Maybe time for some Corinthian spirit where the penalty taker purposely misses because he didn't feel the defender who took him or his teammate out with a neck high challenge was only fractional out and in no way meant to injure the player, or the defender that got two hands to the ball had always wanted to be a keeper and was just playing out his fantasy and was generally a jolly good sport.
