The guy has had a hell of a career but it's clearly time for him to retire at the Euro's you could see there was nothing left for him to give that Wales side and without him it's going to be a tough job to get them to major tournaments going forward.
 
He was absolutely brilliant in his heyday but he has been pretty rubbish for a few years now, partly because of injuries and I think mostly he just fell out of love with the game. He did pop up with some magic for Wales over the last few years.

Now he can really spend more time on his real passion of golf.
 
Bout time, think he mentally retired 4 years ago.

Very special on his day though.
 
I do wonder what he'll do next he's never really struck me as someone who loves the fame that comes with being a footballer.

He might be one of these guys who just totally disappears.
 
I’m sure we all had that mate at school who was brilliant at everything.

Bale is that guy x 100.

But like all of us in his mid 30s he needs to wear a hat to cover up the bald patch.
