Premier League 2023/24: Liverpool vs Man United - Sun 17th Dec - 16:30 KO

I've got a really bad feeling about this one and I mean really bad.

I expect to lose 5-0 so anything less than that is a bonus.

They're even opening up their new stand for this one so loads of extra Scousers will be there and they're the sort of team that feed off that energy. The home crowd will be looking to stick the knife in and twist it.

I mean sometimes football is mad an makes so sense but a Utd win here would be a massive upset.

I have a fear that it could be a repeat of the 7. I hate admitting to that!!!!!

Nobody thinks we can win, but it's nothing to do with the manager

I remember all this last year about how we were going to lose by millions after losing 4-0 to Brentford the game before hand.

That 2-1 win was a shock after the mess of the first 2 games but we're half way into a new season and away from home.

Liverpool I think have won every game at home this season, they're pretty much at full strength and we're coming in with pretty much an entire team on the injury list.

We go into this one probably missing Shaw, Malacia, Martinez, Lindelof, Maguire, Casemiro, Bruno, Mount and Eriksen.

Martial and Rashford might be back having missed the last game with illness rather than injury but do you really want either of them starting away at Anfield given current form?

I just don't see how we score a goal as there's no way we're playing out from the back against these and if we go direct Van Dijk and Konate will win everything and the ball will just keep coming back at us.

Last time we went to Anfield with so many players missing was under LvG, and we all know what happened then.

BELIEVE

they're pretty much at full strength
If you ignore Robertson, jota, Thiago, matip, bajcetic.

Some of those aren't starters for sure, but neither are ours.

You can't include Bruno, he bottled it

Injuries are no excuse, the whole squad should be coached, most of them are internationals

Only one nailed on starter(Robertson), of the others only Matip would be considered a regular starter but Klopp always plays Konate over him when he faces United.

Hardly comparable.

I'd argue we would start with Evans, Varane and him are internationals anyway. I'd be starting Varane if all were fit
Reguilon is dodge, but it sounds like you prefer him to Shaw

So we are looking at Bruno being the miss

Casimero might have started, but he was in and out

It's not as bad as some make out. Like I say, if they were coached properly. In some players cases not bought, we might do better

Mac Allister is a doubt as well, according to the FPL website anyway, but after Watkins rose from the dead to start and bloody score recently not sure they are as reliable on injuries as they were previously.

Maguire is out, ETH said it shouldn't be long term.

Shaw and Rashford are available.

Interesting to see who will be captain in Bruno’s absence? If Varane plays you would suspect it would be him. Shaw is the other candidate I would say.

Love to see EtH go brave and play a front 6 made up entirely of kids:

MAINOO GORE MEJBRI
PELLISTRI HOJLUND GARNACHO
Never gonna happen, but ....

Right! I'm gonna tell yous right here right now United WILL win on Sunday, so get your Liverpool excuses ready:

Salah had his worst game since he was 4, and Darwin ploughed on Manfully but you try playing with 2 broken legs ....

United's first 2 goals were clearly offside, and both were the result of an obvious foul by a United player in the build up, not to mention the blatant handball in both as well. The third was a thing of beauty but by that time Liverpool knew they had well and truly been screwed by all and sundry so had just given up and they were saving themselves for their Xmas party at Gary Neville's gaff

Most of the United players had obviously taken performance-enhancing drugs.

The Sun was in the Liverpool players eyes, in both halves!

SAF in the VAR hotseat gave Liverpool nuffin all game.

The Liverpool players were distracted because the Police had warned then 5 minutes before kick-off that Hubcap Sid was in the vicinity on day-release and on a mission.

The grass was too long, too short

Shaw is captain that’s almost a certainty.

United won’t lose this. It’s in our DNA we bounce back when everyone is on top of us when it’s least expected.

We are now going out to a wider audience ^see above^ so mind your p's and q's folks, no jokes about Liverpool and hubcaps please .....

That should be fun, a guy who hasn't got a clue where he should be on the half the time trying to direct the underlings where they should be on the pitch, what could possibly go wrong!

The captain no longer does that. If they did it wouldn’t be Bruno.

As I said if the job of the captain in ETH system was to tell people where to be it wouldn’t be the headless chicken that is Bruno. I like Bruno more than most but he barely knows where he should be let alone others.

The same way you’d never have a striker doing the job. How’s he communicating with the back line telling them where to be?

It’s an old ideal that the captain is the on field manager that doesn’t happen anymore.

Manchester United have only scored 1 goal in the last 8 Premier League visits to Anfield, and conceded 18(11 of those in the last 2 games) in that time, that one goal came in a 3-1 defeat exactly 5 years and one day ago today.

8-0-3-5-1-18 - there have been three 0-0 results.

Settle for that today, but really love to beat 'em, and beat 'em good.

I'm afraid I'm in the 4 nil camp

I don't trust our keeper to keep it zero, and I don't trust our forwards to score.

Dream stuff if Hojlund comes good though

4-0, 5-0, and 7-0 .....

Any advance on 7-0 you miserable gits?
Not miserable just being realistic, would love us to win obviously but it’s not going to happen we look absolutely shite at the moment with a lot of players out again, nothing to be positive or hopeful about.

It's funny, football. I'm sitting here actually thinking we're going to win today. I know we won't. But I actually 100% think we will.

Weird
