How long do we give Solskjaer?

What happens if we get a positive reaction to todays result and performance, and whoever the Manager is we will, nothing surer, and we beat Tottenham and City, and beat Atalanta away in the Champions League, we will, do you still sack him? Or do you wait until after Chelsea away?

Nah, he looked like a man who knew within 5 minutes he was gonna be asked questions that there were no right answers to, for some.

I wonder if he had his time again he'd have skipped down the touchline laughing and joking.
 
Sack him whatever happens it has to change my view is he goes now give the new boss the toughgames that are coming up.

Top 4 is now becoming a risk as he won’t be able to fix this he doesn’t know how.

These players need organising and I know people don’t like him but it needs a guy like Conte who can teach these players and maybe deliver some brutal truths to some of these players.

If, and it’s a very big if, yeah I would still sack him. United have failed to keep a clean sheet and win back to back matches in over 20 games. Solskjaer doesn’t know how to set up a team. This team is miles off the likes of Liverpool and City.

He looked a beaten man he has now been in charge for 2 of our worst ever home results in the clubs history. At home we’ve lost by 5 goals 10 times it’s happened twice in 2 seasons under Ole.

It’s a shambles he’s clearly tried to change something this season and it hasn’t worked and he knows it isn’t working and he needs to be put out of his misery.

He put a brave face on it but you could see he knows he’s on borrowed time and he needs to face the tough questions.

How can you pick the same team as Wednesday night? How can you sit back and watch that first half and change nothing?

I’m glad the fans didn’t turn on him in the ground we saw that ugly side under Van Gaal but this guy needs to go now he’s simply not good enough to coach these players and there are no more excuses.

Why not?

He’s an excellent coach shown that at 3 clubs and with the Italy national side.

Recent success too it’s not like the washed up versions of Van Gaal and Mourinho we got.

This lot need coached into a team and he’s shown there’s few better than him at doing that.

Let's throw Chelsea in there as well, three of the best sides currently in Europe. Is there any guarantee that if we sacked Ole and brought a new Manager in, basically starting from scratch that we wouldn't be either further behind them this time next season.

Slightly different though innit, different rules, Chelsea had 10/12 years of foundation building prior to his arrival(Tuchel) and he had a far better squad than Ole to work with, it's a club that because of their unfair advantage had been able to stockpile players for years, it's a club that decided Salah(I wonder whatever happened to him)and De Bruyne(same again) two of the best in Europe currently weren't good enough.

It isn’t slightly different. An inexperienced/incompetent manager failing to get the best out of an expensively assembled squad…
 
Chelsea look at their manager like their players if you can get a better one then get him which is exactly what they did when Tuchel came on the market.
 
I can they’ve shown before they are slow to act I was surprised when they sacked Mourinho mid season.

I think he will get until at least the City game.

After that sickening and humiliating performance, which followed many similar this season, what infuriates me most is not just Ole still being at wheel but if u cast your mind back about 2 months or so,the number of Utd fans, many on this very forum, who spoke of our 'improvement' while Ole's been in charge. Go back a further month, and the board giving him a new 3 year deal. Ridiculous!
Listening to various commentators and pundits on TV saying this was always on the cards. Of course it was.
We're out the LC and the EPL title race already. Ffs, we're still in October.
Like the board, like the manager, like the players and like all fans, except Ole's disciples, I do not know where we can go from here?
Yeah, we're improving under Ole???

It's a totally different set-up, more European than a normal English club, and pound for pound they've got better players at every age group from u14 right up to the first-team than every other team in England(though City are catching up) because they used their financial advantage to stockpile players so they are less reliant on new signings making a difference to the first-team, then they bring in a coach to get the best out of that squad, if there is no obvious improvement they are moved on sharpish, rinse repeat, whereas United and English clubs in general give the Managers more licence to shape their own squad and are less likely to be kneejerkers.

I know which model I prefer and if it means a few years without trophies so be it.

Don't think I've ever seen a Man Utd look so clueless.

Even worse, not up for the Liverpool match. I mean the effort was really poor.

We still need to address the CB place, Maguire is not good enough. RB is weak, Shaw seems to have reverted to Jose version, and the CM.

But what makes them look even worse is a clear lack of any idea from the coaching team.

To start with the same side that were opened up by Atalanta is kids stuff really.

You don't just pick your 11 best players on paper. Especaially when a few of them are out of form.

I think this team has gone backwards so much this season, we are nearly at the place when Ole took over in terms of morale, form and how the fans feel.

They need to sack him this week. Accept the Spurs and city games are tough for a new manager.

Our midfield is absolute dog merde, so try a different system man! they can't play it.
 
The thing is... Gary Neville said himself that the result and performance yesterday were not a surprise. And that's the issue. United have been pretty bad so far this season. They have had patches in games where they've looked brilliant but for the most part they have struggled and simply have not looked good.
 
It’s just like the final Mourinho season to be honest we get second place then just completely implode.

What has happened to our players?

They don’t run anymore, they don’t look focused and they look totally drained of confidence. That team spirit that did exist is just gone we look as bad now as we ever have, I did worry about this with the squad size. Only takes a few unhappy campers to turn a dressing room when results aren’t good.

Tactically he’s clearly tried to change something this season but it’s not worked I have to assume it’ll be back to basics for the next game as I just don’t see him being sacked.
