I think he should be a squad player until he steps up another level... if he can.

McTominay reminds me a lot of Fletcher he's a big lad but he gets around the pitch and is pretty good at everything but not outstanding at anything but you can't have a whole team of superstars so he's not bad to have on the bench to maybe get 30 appearences next season. He's not someone we should be relying on every game to be at our best.

Fred we all know isn't top class the club signed an absolute dud and whoever did the scouting on him should be named and shamed because even the reporters who cover Shaktar couldn't believe a top club were willing to pay £50m for Fred. He's ok but really he should be your 4th/5th choice midfield option.

I think we need 2 new centre mids this summer to me Matic and VDB need to go and be replaced by 2 centre mids plus I'd maybe keep Garner around rather than loan him out.
Fletcher is the comparison for me too. He had his moments and while his absence in the CL final was overstated, he was a good option off the bench. McTominay can do a job here and there but you're not winning titles with him as first choice.

Fred, I'd package him with Martial and see if I can find a company willing to swap for a patch job on the OT roof.

It's saying something when the dynamic duo that was Cleverley and Anderson would run rings around McFred.

Think I'd rather have Fletcher and Scholesy back than McFred. Listening to Keano other day. McTom is true and honest but u won't win many trophies if they're your main attributes. He just can't work out how Ole keeps.Fred anywhere near the dressing room never mind the pitch

I think McTominay is the kind of player that United need in their squad to win titles but he's not a starter if you want to win titles. He's a good honest player as Keane says but he's limited.

He was class for United. He drove them forwards on a number of occasions. I didn't actually realise just how good his footwork is but he was getting out of tight situations all the time with his close control.

Heroic performance. Shame the rest of the guys couldn’t follow his lead.

With this type of performance you think wow this guy could be something but then he’ll follow a brilliant performance with 5 or 6 abject ones. He definitely thrives on the big occasion but you just need him to step up consistently.

He was comfortably United’s best player on the night.
Cavani apart, who ran his bloody socks off, McT was a standout. But, as previously stated by SuperRash( think u should maybe consider getting a new moniker mate) he will follow this up with several poor performances. Great squad player but that just shows the gaps that have to be filled at MUFC

Oh I agree he's not a starter in a team that wants to compete for the title. But he's a good squad player. The kind of player you know will come in, give it his all and at least get stuck in.

And versatile, his last few games for Scotland have been on the Right side of a back 3 and has been very impressive

Best game in months one of a few lads who can hold their head high after last night.

Still think in the longer term he’s a squad player not a starter but he has a good career ahead of him
