Champions League Final 2017/18: Real Madrid v Liverpool

awful. to be honest I can't look beyond a Liverpool win :(. That attack will be too much for Madrid, unless they can somehow do a Jose and take the sting out.

I can't work out how anyone thinks Liverpool are favourites. On the one side you've got back to back European champions who know how to get it done in big games. On the other side you've got a serial loser in Klopp who has no idea how to win finals.

Madrid aren't as strong as they were, they are an old team now who I think has gone beyond the cycle.

The only light is Liverpools defence is shocking.

Madrids route to the final. PSG/Juventus/Bayern Munich. Say what you want about them not being a strong side they've come out of the group of death whilst playing poorly and then beaten 3 of the best teams in Europe in the knockout phases.

I doubt anyone outside of England sees them as favourites, I think Utd fans probably see them as favourites because we can't bare the thought of them winning it.

They're up against back to back winners who've knocked out 3 league winners this season over 2 legs and haven't lost a CL game in 3 seasons, they have the competitions all time top scorer and this seasons top scorer and Balon D'or holder. Madrid are a big favourite BUT Liverpool shouldn't be afraid of them if they can keep it tight at the back on the night and not make any silly mistakes their front 3 are good enough to create chances against any defence.

Madrid basically rely on Ronaldo up top they're not really playing great football this season cutting teams apart like they were in previous seasons but they don't give much away at the back and they are hard to play against. They remind me of the Juventus side Zidane played in during the 90's that were incredibly hard to beat rather than the Madrid sides of the 00's where it was all gung ho, it seems he's built a team in that image rather than the Galactico image.

This Liverpool side are also shocking at defending set pieces. I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see Madrid get 2 or 3 from corners with the heading ability of Ramos and Ronaldo.

I find it mental that everyone and their dog are going on about Madrid being vulnerable and their defence being shocking, they have beat the be all and end all PSG, nullified Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe, absolutely destroyed Juve away and got complacent at home, beat Munich away, conceded 3 in 2 games against them while Liverpool have only had to deal with City (with them being City's Achilles heel), and conceded 6 against a Roma side full of premier league has been's in two games and suddenly the side who could win 3 on the bounce have no chance, come on have a word!

I know we can't say much because our run was easy and we failed but Liverpools Champions league fixtures

Maribor
Sparktak Moscow
Sevilla (Who they failed to beat twice)
Porto
City
Roma

Madrid's:

Tottenham
Dortmund
Nicosia
PSG
Juventus
Munich

There aren't many harder Champions League runs than that. I think it's a very under rated campaign from Madrid.

Well... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy about that result. And 3 straight titles? And 4 in 5 years? Jeez that's a great team.

Not one of the Liverpool players consoled Karius after the game. The Madrid players did though.

Not quite sure how you come back from two massive clangers in a Champions League Final

I mean... The fact none of his team mates consoled him says a lot about that team and how they generally feel about Karius I think.

You forget Karius kept them in it at times with some good saves but they were 2 absolute howlers.

2 of the worst howlers I've literally ever seen made worse by it being in a UCL final. Made so much sweeter that it was a Liverpool keeper.

Do you think Ramos meant to injure Salah?

Big talking point after the game and safe to say Twitter fans have not taken it well.

I don't think he did tbh and if he did it's something he has been getting away with for 15 years. He is a horrible human being but this is one of his less controversial incidents.

Big thing people are missing. It’s Salahs right arm Ramos has a hold of. It’s Salahs left shoulder that’s injured. He can’t have know he’d land awkwardly like that. Also if you watch earlier on Salah has Ramos by the arm first.

I think it's pretty typical of the Liverpool love in atm. Ramos has been doing much worse for many years and yet suddenly this has been seen as cynical. Is Ramos cynical? Most definitely. Was this one of those occasions? Don't really think so.

I'm sick of all the moaning about this. Ramos clearly not to blame, it's just 'one of those' that happens occasionally and if Salah misses with WC who really is going to care? He plays for Liverpool and Egypt. I didn't even know Egypt were in the WC and couldn't really care less if they were or not. Cannon fodder!

You'll never walk alone, it's our anthem, we're very proud of it and sing it all the bloody time.

Unless you let a goal in, then you receive death threats. So you can walk alone then.

As for Salah, are we saying this team everyone says we should be like, amazing football etc, are in fact a one man team.

Liverpool of all clubs also pride themselves on the aggression of their players I mean without going back that fact Gerrard & Carragher were no angels when it came to sticking the boot in.

Players lock arms all the time Salah was just unlucky that Ramos landed on him and the stuff about him hitting the keeper is comical because he's pushed into him by Van Dijk.

Karius is lucky he didn't do this 20 years ago because the press are a lot kinder than they were back then he'd face ridicule in the papers rather than the support he has been getting.

For me Liverpool just came up against a very savvy opponent who ruthlessly punished mistakes and provided a moment of absolute magic to take the game away from the opponent.

3 in a row for Madrid is incredible 4 in 5 years but people don't ever suggest this could be the greatest team ever although you wonder if those debates will start to happen now. I mean the Barca team recently did 3 in 5 years but even in that period quite a few players came in and out this Madrid side has been pretty settled. Do they get the respect they deserve because they aren't particularly likeable?
