Just found this from last week. Thought it was interesting. Such a shame he never made it but really seems to have grown up now. I'm glad it doesn't hang over him as a regret and that his head now seems in the right place.

Interesting that he just never thought he'd make it at United.

I thought the Big Sam agent stuff was common knowledge but it's disgusting the way he was treated there.

Would love it if he got to play on the world cup stage with Jamaica.

Watched this last night @IDFD, I did think he was calm and positive about his career so far, considering what he could of done given his talent at an early age.
I do remember seeing him in the youth team and thinking wow, this lad looks the dogs bollocks, Pogba was another who stood out aswell but technically Ravel looked really good.
It is a shame he didnt have a career at United but it shows the level of hard work that needs to go into being a footballer from the outset, even as a young kid.
Agree with your sentiments entirely, would love to see him at the world cup, fingers crossed.

Good post, cheers.
I don't know what Zaha said, but he managed that quite well.

I didn't know that about Big Sam, but it doesn't surprise me based on his history. He really shouldn't be in the game anymore.

If you believe what Zaha says then in 2013, Morrison was "moving like he was Ronaldinho" and "Only passing if he absolutely had to" in a game for England U21's which pissed Zaha off and Morrison didnt like it

I thought Morrison had a point. 'We were 4-0 up I was having fun what is the point in passing backwards to just control the ball. I wanted my hatrick' fair enough at 4-0 really.

Morrison didn't try to make any big boy nonsense of it like Zaha just said nothing happened in the changing room. Zaha's version of events were like he had Morrison pinned up against the wall.

The steeling of the boots stuff is such and trouble it caused is a shame because I'm sure if he'd reached out to Rio or something he'd have got a pair signed and sorted him out for a long time.

However being a kid in Morrisons position in sure the buzz of the theft was also an added motivation.

I think it just all came to easy for him and as he says he just never really appreciated the opportunity he did have. All the talent in the world isn't going to get you there without the hard work but I do think had he stayed at West Ham 3 seasons he'd have worked his way up and the agent stuff really derailed him. Have always hated Big Sam more for that than his style of football.

Only seen a short clip the words from Fergie and how even now he still wants the best for the kid and tells the story about him writing him a letter after his debut to say thankyou the only player to ever do that tells you there was a good kid in there he was just surrounded by bad influences.

You can see the regret he has for not taking the opportunity he had but mentally he wasn't ready for it.

Such a waste of a career for Ravel, I watched a lot of the youth team back then and remember declaring that our midfield was sorted for the next decade with Ravel and Pogba, just shows how difficult it is really to predict how a young talent will fair in his career. Based on talent he should be a superstar by now, a real pity

Just listened to it.

He talks about all sorts of stuff like nicking first team players boots so he could sell them to put food on the table to having struggles just to get to training as he had no one to take him. Reality is if he'd just talked to someone like Rio they'd have made sure he got sorted out but he was quite a shy kid so he didn't know how to ask and back then that first team took no prisoners so would have been very intimidating.

Think there was a story about Rooney smashing up his phone because he'd charged it in Rooney's spot or something they didn't mess about in that dressing room it was tough.

It's not easy to make it as a footballer and he's a great example that talent can only take you a certain distance other factors do play a part his unsettled life off the pitch definitely played a huge part in his early career problems.

Currently playing against us on trial at Derby. Fingers crossed for him.
