Europa League 2022/23 - Second Round: Barcelona vs Man Utd ~ Thu 16th Feb 17.45 KO

Over the years I have always struggled to get overly enthused by the Europa. But hey, this is Barca, lets get into these b*******
I cant help but think this might be the night when the donkey turns into the horse. That's a proper strong line up, got to fancy us.
As the beneficiary of a 14/1 punt on De Bruyne to score first yesterday evening I shall afford myself further expenditure this evening, and that will most certainly be on a winning result for us.

One last time if the Qatari takeover is confirmed at midnight:

DE GEA
AWB VARANE SHAW MALACIA
CASEMIRO FRED
SANCHO BRUNO RASHFORD
WEGHORST

HEATON
BUTLAND
DALOT
MAGUIRE
LINDELOF
MAINOO
IQBAL
ELANGA
GARNACHO
PELLISTRI
C'mon Weggy lad!

Weghorst has to be scoring that.
Yeah definitely. I think it again highlights the need for a top class striker - even Martial is putting that one way I think.

Overall we have played well and should be very happy with our performance.

Hoping to see Garnacho sooner rather than later, I think there are major gaps to exploit in that Barca back line.

We've had all the better of the chances. Need to take one of these and punish them.

He was lucky for that goal really. Keeper should have had that covered. But of course you take ‘em when you get em.
Really pleased with the performance!

We should have been over the hills and gone. But a good game and decent result.

Disappointed for it to end 2-2 but what a game! Felt like the old days of United/Barca ties!

We certainly could have taken the points there. But it felt great to be involved in such a fixture while putting up a good showing.
Very enjoyable and just further makes you feel we are on the way back to being a European force.
Thank EtHag

Barca have only lost twice in 40 odd games to English opponents at home.
We haven't scored at the camp nou since the 99 final
I think us being gutted we only got a draw, without Eriksen or Martinez shows how far ETH has brought this team.
Just think back to the end of last season.

Great result

Absolute cop out from the officials for the foul on Rashford when running through on goal. Clear and obvious error yet VAR was nowhere to be seen.

Great game though, and agree that we will be disappointed not to have won this game.

Not sure you get points in a two-legged affair.

UEFA trying to prove they've still got a sense of humour by appointing Italian officials for this match knowing the near 50 year history between the two countries(Spain and Italy), United should really consider an appeal.

But, brave selection, and hope the lack of substitutions doesn't come back to haunt us at the weekend, and a very cute European performance from one and all, we'll nearly all, we've progressed 2 years in only 6 months, keep it up.

Right off to the player performance threads, no doubt the same fall-guys will be getting hammered, and the under-performers will be getting praised to the hilt. Same as it ever was. Zzzzzzz

Nah.

I do wonder how many times one person can be wrong before they realise their understanding and knowledge of football is a bit rubbish. Or maybe it’s just one big wum…

You be careful you don't trip over your bottom lip there love.

I've forgotten more about Manchester United and football in general than you'd learn if you lived long enough to reach puberty.

And you are the biggest WUM on the forum, guess when the forum was passed over to you the Admin rulebook was thrown away as you thought you knew best, i've got news for you, you don't!

Probably my last post on the forum, but think we missed a massive opportunity when we were clearly on top to put the tie to bed last night, and Barca will make us pay for it next Thursday.

Given I’ve been going to Old Trafford since the early 90’s I highly doubt that is true. Anyhoo your point doesn’t demonstrate an understanding of football.

And you are the biggest WUM on the forum
Elaborate, my dear?

You don't get many chances to win at the Nou Camp and last night was certainly a massive opportunity missed for this team in my opinion.

It was a great game even if I did only get to see the second half. Two sides just trading blows on each other is always great entertainment.

The ref for me certainly bottled a red card for Kounde for that foul on Rashford he took him out and denied the goal scoring opportunity and I think that was the straw that broke the camels back for ETH he finally cracked after the game and dug out the refs.
