How long do we give Solskjaer?

So I'd like to know... At what point do people start to think maybe Ole isn't the man? Results are poor and that's to be expected. But the performances? It's turgid.
The question is - do the owners aspire to build a great squad, or are they content to finish in the top four?
If it is the latter, then why bother to replace Ole, as the next manager will not be any better.
Remember, two of the greatest managers of all time, van Gaal and Jose, could not do anything at the club, which leads me to believe that the problem is not the manager.

Not a bad little second post. Welcome to SEA.

I was just about to post that article.

He's right, ole just doesn't get the credit he deserves. But people are quick to point the gun

Seems to have gone a bit flat this thread. I would suggest we give him a bit longer. Given what he took over he has actually done a remarkable job. Just think back to how we were as a club even a year ago and we have improved all over.
I expect we will continue to rise under Ole's guidance

Think this season he’s making much better use of the squad maybe because he has more players he trusts to come in he’s not just sticking out the s@me XI game after game grinding them into the ground.

He’s rallied them after a horrible start confidence has built and the team is buzzing.

There’s a whiff of a title challenge now but there will be a wobble can he keep the group together when it happens and bounce back as there’s a title that could be grabbed here.

I’ll admit I’d lost some of the faith in him but he’s built a great spirit amongst this group and it feels like a Utd team again.

He's doing an incredible job and doesn't get enough credit. Dealt with the Pogba situation really well. Shown he isn't tactically inept and is 2nd with a squad most people said needs 6 or 7 new players to compete

Can I suggest you use your editing powers here ;)

Haha, I still can't see what's wrong o_O unless you think he is tactically inept of course

Is there a contract extension in the air???
Team spirit is high. Confidence is high.
Let him win something first.
League cup looks on. Utd will beat Spurs. Just.

Don’t think we need to worry about his contract he’s not going anywhere so let’s so where we are in March/April.

Right now he’s got the team firing and full of confidence can he keep that going and manage the setbacks when they do come.

Just seen something, about a year after United lost to Liverpool, JC and RK had a bit of a row. Jamie said Ole should be sacked, Roy said he needed another year

Think he signed a 3 1/2 year deal so his contract runs to 2022.

Let's see where we end up at the end of the season before we make any rash decisions last time we gave him a contract form went off a cliff so lets not make that mistake again.

Ole isn't going anywhere he won't be flirting with our rivals he's loyal so lets see where we end up if he delivers top 4 again I'm sure he'll get a new deal.

The season is still young and as we've seen your position can change very quickly

I certainly wouldn't be offering any deal now. But I'd look to get it sorted in the summer. You don't want contract negotiations with a manager going on during a hectic season.

Yeah I agree if he meets the targets at the start of the season which are top 4 it should be a pretty straight forward decision give him another few years on contract and move forward with the plans for the next season. Obviously if we tank the second half of the season it could be a very different conversation.

I know I give Ole stick when results are bad but fair play to him he's found two different wants of playing with is getting results and he's found the balance in the team. The players always seem to have been behind him all the way and they really seem to be gelling as a team and working together rather than turning on each other and that's a credit to Ole and his management.

Against the very best the few weaker areas we do have do become an issue but if he can solve them we really could be rocking.

This isn't some mercenary type manager like Mourinho either it's Ole his contract should be the easiest contract in the world to negotiate if and when it's time for a new one.

If he's not got it tied up by the end of April we should probably think about it.

Thought that would give the incoming Mourinho enough time to use the new manager bounce and take us to the title.

I was extremely vocal with my disgruntlement in the Autumn when form was poor, but am absolutely delighted how Ole and his team have turned situation around. Long may it continue. As others have said, contract talks should only be held in the summer, in this congested season we need all focus to be on the team and league/cups.

So, pro Ole sentiment all these months has now turned to “sack him in April” if it’s not done and dusted.
How things change...
You do have your head in the clouds.
I thought l would have seen this months ago.

I'm sorry that my attempt at humour was that poor.

As someone whose been pro Ole the entire time it's just nice to have a laugh at the idea of sacking him whilst we sit top of the table!

Anyway even if I was suddenly Ole out I would only be mirroring your 'flip flopping'.

My stance on OGS has never changed...
My opinion of Utd as not one of the two best teams in England has not changed.
Don’t confuse my rallying cry to all you faint hearts with the idea that l am now a believer...
...flip-flopping by all of you might be because you are starting to wake up.

I know it’s a place to discuss our manager but I don’t like the title how long do we give him? Like we’re a pack of wolves I would rather the thread closed like mentioned above or renamed to something like how do you think Oles Doing? This kind of attitude is what the media and everyone has done to him since day one to put massive pressure on him.
