I know James isn’t everyones cup of tea but he’ll keep their full back pushed back which leaves AWB to go one vs one with Grealish. Need to be wary of the driving runs of McGinn in midfield so I think he’ll go for the safer pairing even with the cup semi vs City in midweek.

A win here would be huge keeps pressure on Liverpool at the top and sends a big message to those below us but Villa have troubled the big boys this season and are not to be taken lightly.

That back line picks itself but I think McT should start alongside Matic (thinking squad rotation)
Greenwood needs to start on the right and DVB should start instead of Bruno.
 
They’ve had a day more rest then us , we need to be up for it and energetic, this would be a massive win for us I think there will be goals for both teams.

Fred should start. He’s comfortably been the best midfielder this season. Fernandes should also start, he can rest against Watford.

If you ask me Bruno is knackered. He was dangerously wasteful against Wolves and tiredness was likely a contributory factor.

Bruno needs a little rest especially as we will want to start him against City on the CC if that goes ahead. Obviously have him on the bench if needs must but we cannot run him into the ground.
 
I’d rest Bruno In the cup games to be honest he’s so vital we have to just keep going with him.

Think we will need Fred/McTominay to play this game and the next one so big ask from them but it needs to be a proper B team vs Watford in that cup game.

Currently after Watford it’s a week rest before Liverpool so if we sit the starters out of that game we potentially can give players a good few days off to rest before returning to training.

However, there is talk that Utd want the Burnley game played in between Watford and Liverpool.

Villa are flying this season this has to be strongest team possible

Got a feeling for Martial and a good performance tonight. His performances have been showing improvement just needs to add the goals. Tonight's the night!

Been a decent start. Will be much more open than the Wolves game I think.
 
Bit of a raw deal off the commentator. Seemed to be suggesting Mings headed it against him and it bounced in. Decent header for me

Good half this Villa team is decent they’ve not really created a chance and we looked the better side for most of the half.

Nice goal from a decent cross.

What a dumb goal to give away it’s their free kick and our entire team is sleeping reminds me a lot of that Spurs one earlier this season.

Been rubbish second half so far.
 
A one goal lead doesn’t feel enough.

Think the sub made sense not one of McTominay’s better games.
 
We have been very good in the last 15 minutes, really need to put this to bed and we’ve had so many chances.
