Would you sell Rashford in the summer?

I think like Sancho last season a loan just means that Amorim doesn't need to answer questions about him every few days.

Might save us £2-3m in wages this season which could be spent on a player who the manager wants to work with.

Also, if the loan goes well clubs might be interested in buying him this summer.

True, however who is going to pay him big money

No one is going to match his current Utd salary.

At the end of the season he still has 3 years to run on a contract worth a reported £15m a year so he's "owed" £45m

Utd are not going to make much profit out of whatever deal gets him out of the club if he agrees to sign for another club it will be on a reduced salary and Utd may well end up making up the difference.

Spurs are supposed to be interested according to 442
Wages are a stumbling lock for all interested clubs

Utd wouldn’t loan him to Spurs as it’s a direct rival in the league and Europa league. UEFA rules mean we can’t stop him playing in games against us.

They might be willing to sell him to Spurs in the summer.

Was he at Kaths funeral, I only saw clips on the news and didn't spot him

A shame you asked this. Of course he was. You can question his ability as a footballer and his commitment to United. You cannot question his integrity as a human.

Starting to worry me your problem with him isn't football related.

Oh shut up with the narrative, I saw a very short clip on the news, and didn't see him.
I don't need you to worry about me, I'm big enough to look after myself.

I get the feeling if he really wanted out, and a new challenge he'd take a pay cut to prove he can be that striker/winger elsewhere.
The club should be looking to sell, even if they have to subsidise the wages.

Footballers don't take pay cuts as you say the only way he leaves is if Utd cough up some money that means he still ends up making the same money as he would have done by staying with us.

Not sure about selling to team also in a relegation battle…

Solksjaer took one to stay

I'd have no issue sending him there to be honest.

As for being in a relegation battle until we get the points on the board that pull us well clear of that drop line we are vulnerable to it even if it's a slim chance.

There is 0% chance we get relegated. I thought you would know that, you're usually on the ball.

I'd love to say there's 0% chance but given the results we've seen in the last month you can't rule anything out. I'd say it's probably 10% max but until we show that Liverpool performance wasn't a one off I'm not sure we are quite out of the woods yet.

Come the end of the season I think we'll be closer to the team in 18th on points than the team that finishes 4th.

A few decent results in January and hopefully we can forget that sort of talk.

We are only seven points above Ipswich, 9 points above Leicester, Southampton are already down and playing like they know it. level on points with West Ham, so it's not 0% chance.

It is if you use some common sense and football knowledge. You should come to the conclusion that there is no way we get relegated..

Percentages are all BS - there's always some percentage [chance] that something will happen, but when you really think about it you should realise the above is right.

I'll take that bet!

I say we'll be closer to the top end.

Let's see how it plays out.

Currently we're 13 points off 4th and 7 points ahead of 18th.

One of the reasons I don't think it'll change massively is once they're clear of any relegation threat I think we'll see a lot of players down tools through games that basically become meaningless.

You weren't around in 1974 were you?

Good point actually. That might end up leaving us very mid-table.
I’m sure it was said with tongue firmly in cheek.
Well, I hope so.

Never heard this story.

Was this after his injuries?
Spurs came in for him, and were offering him a better contract, more money, better goal bonus, he was informed of the approach by SAF but elected to stay at United.

I wans't born yet.
I'd worked that out.
Quick summary.
Right up until it became mathematically impossible to stay up, people were still saying we couldn't be relegated, we were too good.
Long before the Law back heel most of us knew we were down, we were relying on other teams in form, to suddenly lose, they didn't, so we were relegated.
So I never say never, you only need a few injuries to key players, or those below you go on a winning streak, and you get left behind.
That performance against Liverpool should be the norm, it's not, if we go on a run like we did after the City game, we could be deeper in the fight.

This is a completely different situation, and if you truly believe we're fighting a relegation battle then so be it.

I refuse to accept it because it isn't true. You can tell me all the theories you want, but in about 10 games time you'll be forced to admit you were wrong.

How do you know it's a completely different situation ?
In the last six games, 5 of the teams below us have a better match record than us, we've lost four of our last six

Not to be pedantic but he didn't take a pay cut he just decided not to move to another club willing to pay him more money.

We're going through a tough patch is all, our team is of a higher level than at least 10 other teams in our league. There is no way we can finish in the bottom 3. It's crazy to think so.

Amorim will sort them out, and we'll only get better the more time he has with the team. I'm very confident about that.

Talk of relegation is abolute nonsense

Probably peddaled by the club as an excuse not to spend and to sell all our homegrown talent.
