Would you sell Rashford in the summer?

I don’t agree.

On the ball he isn’t as clinical as an Mbappe or Salah where you maybe tolerate the lack of off the ball work.

Off the ball he hasn’t got a clue how to get the ball back.

He’s a very talented individual who has no idea how to play in a team system.

He had a few good years where we played counter attacking football. The moment it became a more team approach he was found out.

I think he'll be excellent, just needs out of Manchester.
We'll all be saying why can't he do that for united

I find the whole thing bizarre he looks like he gave up at United and find that unforgivable
If he suddenly starts putting some effort in at Villa he’s an even bigger **** than I thought

All true when he plays for us. My guess is that he will come across very different in a well organised team with more ability, if it plays to his strengths and is coached well. But I might be wrong.

Villa aren’t going to shift their plans to suit a loan player though.

I reckon they’ll try to use him as an impact sub. The role Duran had.

Sad to say that I’m happy with this. He’s in the same bracket as Sancho.
He's not. Sancho never really performed for us. Rashford had a 30 goal season for us. Him leaving is a failure on the manager. There is a reason a top class manager wants him and he will be playing Champions League football and we aren't. Like it or not. Rashfords move is a step up.

He never gave up at United. The manager made an excuse of him to make a point.

Not true Rashford stopped trying under your favourite man Eth, surely your memory isn’t that bad?
And he’s said he wants to leave, not trying in training I mean what possible excuses can you make for him for having the wrong attitude is £375,000 a week not enough to motivate him?

One 30 goal season which is looking more and more just like an anomaly.

I like Rashford for what he can bring to the party but there is a lot to dislike. I don’t think he works hard enough, he lets players just jog past him at times. He’s also wildly inconsistent, that 30 goal season should have been the start of consistently putting together goal heavy seasons. Plus his unprofessionalism at certain points over the last year or so.

It’s just another dig at the manager when it sounds like it’s all the player. I think Rashford got away with a hell of a lot under the old managers but Amorim is calling him out now. This is all on the player.

I have to smile at certain comments from a certain poster, yes Rashford had ONE 30 goal season, got a massive contract, and then nothing, his performance and goal scoring went off the scale, downwards, ETH saw Sancho for the fraud he was, proven by the point that he really lighting up Chelsea isn't he, and now Amorim has seen Rashford for the fraud he is, Amorim isn't the only one, Southgate dropped him from the England squad well before Amorim came to United.
The only sad thing about this is, that it is only a loan move, joining Villa on virtually the last minute of the transfer window shows just how desperate United are to get shot of him.

Rashford is a top player.

He's got problems at united. It's nothing to do with the manager.

But I hope he does well. I like him and I hope he resolves whatever problems he has.

This is why I think Amorin has a good chance of success. There was/is something disfunctional in that changing room and to fix it it's going to need a stubborn character with a solid sense of how they're going to succeed.

It’s a pity some can’t see that Amorim is trying to change a toxic..”with some players” culture while also moulding them into a team, for too long the Pogba’s the J Lingz and the like of Rashford to name a few think it’s ok to get away whatever they want, you can’t have lack of effort or lack of discipline for success.

They clearly have to get rid of some players to bring in the ones Amorin wants. Rashford falls into the sweet spot of good enough to offload and not good enough to keep. The real problems are Mount, Shaw, Casemiro, Erikson who nobody would want at any price. FFP means that you can't carry dead weight without drowning. Three of those players should never have been bought.

Villa meeting 70% of the wages is going to be a great help.
There is also supposed to be an option to buy clause, with a fee set at £40m, his value really has dropped, I would argue that based on form we are lucky to get that.
I also can't see him moving to Birmingham, that commuting up and down the M6 is going to be fun for him.

I’d be happy with that.

I reckon he will hope to use it as a shop window to attract better sides.

Yeah what we could have got a few years ago from PSG after that big season he had, ah well

Yeah wish him the best but if he suddenly pulls his finger out at Villa then that speaks volumes.

It’s sad to see a quality player go who has scored goals in the past, especially with us short of goals but it’s the best thing for all.

I think he'll do well. Been terribly mismanaged. If they can get the player Ole did they have a bargain. People forget there are different styles of management for different people.

He’s getting such an easy ride from some fans. I get he’s an academy product but seems to avoid criticism of his lack of work ethic on the pitch and professionalism off it.

I think he’s finished lost the love for the game and never learned how to play without the ball.

His first challenge is getting in that Villa team. Emery isn’t going to give him special treatment so unless he works his arse off he’ll be on the bench.

I always thought when he lost a bit of pace he would turn into your average run of the mill player. Not saying he doesn’t have his qualities but he’s still very naive with the ball at his feet.

Really hope he can rediscover his spark at Villa. But anyone suggesting he’ll end up at Barca seems a little fanciful.

I don’t think he ever learnt how to play in a team.

An incredible individual talent but the game is about more than that and he never learnt that.

Just wants to do his own thing and the moment you ask him to do something else for the team he’s not interested.

He can give you flashes of absolute genius but what he can’t give you is a guarantee of maximum effort week in week out.

Ten Hag maybe felt he finally got through to him but the next season asked to play a slightly different role he tuned out again.

He needs to get out of Manchester, leave his family there and get a proper agent who’s going to tell him some hard truths about the game.
