Would you sell Rashford in the summer?

Amorim went over the top with what he said and I'm surprised how little it's being criticised. Pathetic stuff from him.

Yeah his comments didn’t sit well with me. Fair enough having a problem with a players training but don’t embarrass the guy from our academy by saying a 60 plus old is more deserving of a spot in the squad.
So you think he should lie ?
Maybe it was a last ditch attempt to get a positive reaction from Rashford, maybe just maybe he's heard some dressing room talk about Rashford, and decided to squash it once and for all.
All of this is Rashford's doing, he's been on a steady decline since he signed that new contract, Southgate saw it, ETH didn't want to see it, but Amorim has and wont put up with it.
It's a long time since he was an academy player, and that doesn't give him a god given right to be picked and not sounded out when he isn't pulling his weight.
I would go even further and let him go on a free if the receiving club take on all his wages

It's certainly a messy situation.

Amorim has maybe poured a bit to much fuel on the fire rather than bite his tongue but does feel like there's been no real improvement in the situation.

I don't think he's trying to kick him up the arse to perform he's trying to kick him up the arse to get out of the club as he's sick of being asked about him.

His comments are worse than the stuff Mourinho would get criticised for. Apparently Amorim is above criticism for a few of you.

Jose was know for doing this all the time but Amorin is not known for this and that means something has gone wrong with Rashford.

Amorim isn't know for anything. He's never been in a high pressure environment like this and what he said was disgraceful. He deserves to be called out for it.

It's the third time in 2 weeks he's fecked up a press conference and got it wrong. He'll apologise again shortly.

Actually it was high time someone called out Rashford. He should have been carpeted the moment he told Maguire to eff off under Ole. After SAF too many times players are getting away with it. It started with Moyes and this has been going on for far too long. I do not care how bad the manager is but he is the Boss and players shall accept what he says or they can go away to another club no matter how good they are. To be hones Rashford has been horrible for a very long time. I think the last time he scored most of his goals was when The Woug was playing and he made a lot of space for Rashford by being very unselfish.

I think he needs calling out, I'm not sure about so hard in the press, not for Rashfords benefit, but for the clubs return on him.

This club needs a no messing manager like Amorim. These players have got to go. They had their chance. Lets be clear, nobody is coming in for him, he's said he'll drop his wages. still nobody.

@IDFD , you've turned into a worse version of the supporters you dislike so much. It's getting ridiculous.

A real man would role his sleeves up and turn criticism into motivation to prove Amorim wrong but that wont happen with Rashford he gave up ages ago. No sympathy for someone on over £350,000 a week that cant put any effort in training or on the pitch.

Amorin didn't single out just Rashford. He said he'd do the same to any player not giving 100%

He' right about that, I think we can all agree. More power to his elbow, I say. I defended ETH's stance over Sancho and this is similar.

This is why I take my hat off to Maguire. He has not said anything or much and just buckled down and worked on his game and is now a starter for the club. This is what the local boy should have done instead of going to the press.

Your view with Sancho was slightly different you said he was just playing the mental health card.

But at the time I also criticised ETH's handling of Sancho.

Amorim and much like ETH should have can deal with these issues behind closed doors instead of making a complete mess of it.

Not quite correct. I defended ETH for calling out Sancho's lack of effort. The discussions on mental health followed a particular line of defence or consideration of Sancho's position.

I think the problem is when you just leave it all behind closed doors their is never ending speculation about why he's not being picked.

Amorim has been consistently clear with the message he doesn't feel that Rashford is training well enough & isn't living a lifestyle off the pitch that warrants being picked. His issue is before and after every game he's being asked about Rashford and he's clearly getting fed up with answering the questions. I do think he maybe went a little bit to far on Sunday my guess is he knows the guy who asked the question is friendly with Rashford.

Utd have also got to deal with the Rashford PR team who will put stories in the press that paint Rashford in a positive light and you can see from his social media (which is managed by the PR team) that he's showing himself training and congratulating his team mates.

The Rashford situation is simple Utd probably started the window wanting a deal where 100% of Rashford's wages are covered. The clubs who might be interested know as we creep towards the end of the window the Utd demands will reduce so they can save some money.

Definitely not. I'd badly discipline him, fine him, throw stuff at him... but I wouldn't sell him. He needs some type of new motivation or new direction. Like a new manager and a team to play in that compliments him. I don't know, maybe I'd try him even at RW... send him to the psychologist... the list goes on. Anything but sell him. He must be given at least one more season after this. It's very hard to see just when a player will hit maturity, but I'm very confident he hasn't hit his and my hope is when that happens, he'll learn to pass when it's time to pass.
He lazy and boneidle, doesn't care about the fans at all. Get rid, he's taken the p for too long

The post you quoted was from a while ago, my opinion on Rashford has changed since then. It's very hard to support the player these days.

We don't know whats going on with him, considering the thread on depression etc we should be careful what we say about people when we know little.

I think a change is needed for him, shame, because I like him. I hope he chooses well. He seems to want Barca, but that place is a horror show of stress. Looking at McTom it might be better mentally to go somewhere like Napoli

Makes you wonder what Rashford isn’t doing in training or what he’s doing that’s wrong? Just cannot see a way back for him.

I suspect his off the ball work is nowhere near what Amorim wants from his players.

Also, sounds like off the pitch he isn’t living his life the way the manager wants.

I dont understand why the club hasn't just banned question on Rashford at this point. Starting to seem very much like a personal attack they could close down very quickly.

I thought the response he gave last night was him probably trying to put an end to the questions

Yeah he's getting frustrated now and understandably so

I think he’s realised he’s gone to the extreme and a touch to far. He has walked it back a bit in his most recent press conference.

I think going forward when asked he will just say nothing has changed.

As things stand it’s looking like he’s staying as there’s not even a sniff of talks at the moment.

I’m not even that surprised to be honest there isn’t hot interest in him. He’s very inconsistent and is on most wages clubs just cannot afford - even if we agreed something like we did with Antony.

Wonder if this will be a wake up call for him that he really needs to buck his ideas up and prove to Amorim he does have a future? Otherwise his career could just start to fizzle out. Although sure there are a good percentage of players who would be happy just to collect their wage and turn up to training a few times a week.

Obviously a lot can happen in a few days in the transfer window but a move isn’t looking particularly likely.

It's been two months though and it sounds like there has been no real change in his attitude or approach towards training. If there is anything left for him to salvage of his career I just don't see it being here.

I'm still in his corner, but supporting him the way I once did is impossible now. It's up to him to shut up and get on with it now.

Actions speak much louder than any words can.

Translation:

Marcus Rashford's signing has reached a standstill and Barça are close to pulling out of the bidding.

The English striker is increasingly far from becoming a Barça player.

Emery's Aston Villa interested.
