Yeah he needs to back it up this season to really show he has turned a corner from an indifferent career to date. To me he’s still in that Michu, Santa Cruz etc category. He's one that I'm not quite willing to move out of the 1 season wonder bracket just yet but he was very good last season unlucky not to go to the Euro's ahead of Toney.

The problem is neither of our strikers are better than Solanke and until they are it's a moot point. Solanke is the better Premier League player and last season proves it. It doesn't matter what any of you think, he did the business last season and that's as good as you get. He could easily still have six seasons in him for them. He's only going to be surrounded in much better players, which means even more chances to score. I think it'll end up being money well spent. He is 26 so they're buying him at his peak and this is probably him at his very best, would you want to pay £60m for him off the back of 1 good season in the top flight?
Both our strikers were bought on the basis that they will be much better players than Solanke
If you had to ask me honestly over the next 2 seasons who scores more goals Solanke (Spurs) and Hojlund (Utd) I'd say it's a coin toss.
For what it's worth I'd have been happy with Solanke as the competition for Hojlund next season but they're gone for Zhirkzee who cost a lot less in terms of transfer fee and likely on a lot less money.
I think Utd and Spurs fans should be pretty happy with the strikers they've managed to get in.
A proven PL striker? Not quite yet.I think he's better than both of our strikers, and he's going to cost less than Hojlund and is a proven Premier League striker. I think the doubters are just a little bit jealous.
This is a very different Solanke though - a man on fire. He's playing with a smile on his face, and loving his football. That is the best sign you can get from any player.A proven PL striker? Not quite yet.
A number of underwhelming seasons in the top flight followed by a very good one doesn’t equal proven.
Fair to play him if he does succeed at Spurs because he did do very well for Bournemouth last year but I wouldn’t swap him for Hojlund.

I'm not unhappy with our options, but I really would have liked someone like him, who for me is guaranteed goals.
Hojlund could end up costing £72m and for that up to now, we haven't gotten a lot.
The Solanke signing might end up being the reason we finish below them again.
Yeah, but you have to admit Solanke is way ahead of Holjlund right now.Tricky one to compare as a Bournemouth player prem seasons only 123 games 32 goals (1 in 4 games) with most of them coming last season. Include 2 seasons in the championship 216 games 77 goals so roughly 1 in 3.
Hojlund 43 games 16 goals at Utd roughly 1 in 3. You’d hope he will get better and closer to a 1 in 2 as he matures.
Form is temporary class is permanent. Solanke will only be classed as a top player if he continues to score 20 a season and prove that last season wasn’t a one off,the top players do it year after year.
If we end up paying the full fee then things have gone very very well.
As for finishing above them this season really that depends on what we do to sort the midfield out before the window shuts.

I think he might of struggled to keep up the goals at Bournemouth, but now he has the perfect platform to really kick on.
His goals last season had everything too. Interceptions, clever pieces of skill. Runs in behind.... it was just a bit of a masterclass.
Solanke’s stock was probably at an all time high after last season so Bournemouth are probably being wise cashing in.Yeah, but you have to admit Solanke is way ahead of Holjlund right now.

Yeah, it'll be no walk in the park. Our league is no joke and getting goals is hard.Solanke’s stock was probably at an all time high after last season so Bournemouth are probably being wise cashing in.
Will definitely be interested to see how he does at Spurs and can kick on. Last season it did look like something clicked with him but it’s hard for a lot of players to back up a stellar season with another one.
At least in the Charity Shield we created four great chances that on a better day would all have been tucked away. If we continue to create the chances, the goals will come.I think goals is definitely going to be a problem for us.
Last season, creating chances was definitely the issue.I didn't say creating chances is a problem. It's converting them.
