There were a few stories yesterday that he's off but they weren't exactly well sourced. Feels a bit like INEOS are clearing house and Murtough is a guy who's been in the club for 10 years and worked his way into a top position. Some may suggest he's failed upwards as a result of being "one of the boys."

He might stick around for this summer because neither the new CEO or Ashworth will stack before June due to their gardening leave but I think he'll be gone pretty quickly after the new regime are in.

I guess similar questions will be asked about Fletcher although I feel they might try and find a home for him in the new setup.

How very RedCafe.

He did a great job getting the Women's team up and running in double-quick time and has played a massive part in the restructuring of the Academy set-up - he more than earned any promotion.

Be surprised/disappointed if both Murtough and Darren Fletcher are not still at the club when Sir Jim and INEOS sort out who they want to take the club forward.

I think it’s ridiculous to suggest the signings had nothing to do with him. Of course they did. He oversaw and revolutionised the whole structure especially at Brighton - less so at Newcastle I would say but he has still been impactful with youth development especially.

This article will get you an idea of where I’m coming from and why it’s clearly the system designed by the owner that everyone wants their hands on that’s down to Brightons recruitment.

Never heard of that place let alone visited it, you sound rather familiar with it.

I've always said with the behind the scenes people none of us really know what they do but what was obvious from the Glazer's running the show for a decade post Fergie/Gill was there seemed to be a lot of internal promotions rather than external recruitment. If you stayed on message and in the good books you rise up the ranks regardless of your actual ability to do the job.

INEOS as part of their reviews are clearly looking to shake things up and their comments so far seem to be they feel the club has been badly run for the last decade and they'll changing things from the top down.

Find that hard to believe. Know it well, visit it 3 or 4 times a day, it's the biggest gathering of United fans anywhere on t'Internet.

Fred the Red is safe for now then ....

Honestly never been on it, Facebook, Twitter or Reddit might have something to say about that.

I wonder who's more senior Fred the Red or Alan Keegan?

Meant forums set up with United fans in mind. Reddit is poor for active United debate, it's slower than this place at times, but the England youth International stuff is different gravy., which is a bit weird.

And Twitter is just a wind-up Merchants paradise,

And Twitter is just a wind-up Merchants paradise,

My first Utd forum was the old 606 club message boards which spawned into a couple of forums when they got shut down. Those forums then shut down and I ended up here with a few others who came over at the same time.

Never actually used Reddit and Twitter is a mad house which is part of the fun.

You should keep it that way. There are some good posters on there but a lot of the posters are just immature idiots. I was on it briefly many years ago but it just made me angry so wanted a smaller community like this one!

It’s good for information but if you want a serious debate then it’s a non-starter. Even if you make a good point, the post will be lost in a plethora of nonsense.

Yeah i've noticed stuff like that on other forums, it's quite touching when you see posters welcoming each other to a new forum "took your time mate, where you been" "getting the gang back together" "where's Sid"

It's gone to pot since they kicked me off a few years ago ....

The youth section is still pretty good but there's more and more idiots getting involved there as well now, if all you can offer is Joe Bloggs(16)will never make it at United(after a debut cameo), ripping his game to pieces, why bother posting. It's just sad.

Former Man City academy director so guess he's well known to the new CEO.

Not ideal having to poach from them but they are the club everyone is trying to catch and given we're now tied into a multi club model through INEOS we need people who understand how to manipulate that for the best results.

"My job is to come in and make sure we've got alignment where the first team manager plays a certain way and the academy teams play a certain way and then we can transition creating this pathway for the younger players. That's what I'm here to do.

"I think when you don't have alignment and you have inconsistency of work, it takes you a lot longer to get there and you're being reactive all the time. So I've been brought up now for the last 12 years on a complete alignment from top to bottom from the board to the director of football to the first team manager to the academy director.

"Then when you get that alignment of thinking and you understand profiles of players, you understand what's happening on the pitch, you can build and you can grow and even when you're losing football matches, you can actually understand where you're going wrong or when you win football matches you can understand what you're what we're doing really well and have clear measures.

"That's something that I'm looking to implement and I say to do that the first port of call was to get the manager that plays and thinks the same way as me and that's also when we're recruiting players. I've said to Russell we will never sign a player that he doesn't want and we will never sign a player that I don't want. We're completely aligned.

"I've been really impressed with him and the staff that have come in; they're all good people and all ambitious and they all want to be in the Premier League. The players want to be in the Premier League. Russell and his staff want to be in the Premier League and so do I.

"So there's alignment from day one. So, you know, we're all hungry for success and we're all gonna work together and try and bring it to Southampton and we're looking forward to it. I feel like I've been here a long time.”

You're fooling nobody mate, well maybe yourself ....
The only fool on here is you, how anyone can spend so much time on a forum thinking it’s relevant, spouting tripe and thinking your opinion is important is beyond foolish, but go on you have the last word you need to keep your post count up.

They kicked you off? Whatever for? You’re a delight!

With the total rebuild it depends what the capacity of the main stadium, and the smaller one which I presume is for the Ladies and Academy is.
