The Sir Jim Ratcliffe Era

Think they're within their rights to be p*ssed off.

Members ticket prices increased by 50%, Senior Ticket Prices close to 100% and Kids ticket price 140%.

Season ticket holders looking to resell their ticket now get £40 but the club can resell it for £66 a trouser the difference. If that ticket doesn't sell at the higher price then the season ticket holder will get a black mark against their attendance record.

All announced with zero dialogue with the fan advisory board and will generate the club about £1m in additional revenue.

While I dont agree with the new price increases lets not for get how this has happened, The parasitic Glazers and a totally inept previous series of board clowns, the club has massive debts.

Ratcliffe has done an exclusive interview with Andy Mitten for the latest United We Stand which is out this week. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

Ticket prices already went up at the start of the season fans buy their membership at the start of the season on the basis that ticket prices are set so changing the price half way through the season is just wrong.

I do think the finances are now so bad at the club that we are in a bit of trouble.

SJR is a businessman, he has put his own money in but has now seen the road ahead and it wont be looking good financially at the moment.
Success = £

Way to miss a point.

It’s always the same people without an original idea between them putting themselves forward as the voice of the people ... did they actually think 1000’s and 1000’s would join them, what then, bellends on line encouraging them to get the game called off ....

And it will be the same group pushing for the club to build a new Stadium and training-ground, where do they think the money is coming from

Always said be careful what you wish for ....

Well someone has to do something. The protest was actually planned before the price rises.

No one is saying prices can’t go up at the start of the season.

They should not go up mid season and they certainly shouldn’t go up more for kids than others.

The owners made certain commitments to the fan advisory board regarding open dialogue that they’ve gone back on.

It’s a desperate cash grab by the owners and in my view it’s a piss take.

This isn’t to pay for a stadium or training ground is it

They went to a lot of trouble getting Ashworth, looks like he`s had a big row and been sacked.

The optics aren’t good are they? I guess if they have made a mistake it’s better to correct it quickly but it’s a terrible look.

If he’s not pulling in the same direction as the others then it’s no surprise. You can’t have conflicting plans at that level.

The above is purely speculation but that’s the only obvious reason for the club intervening.

All very suspicious though and does not reflect well on the new board

I’m actually feeling sorry for you his guys as fans. United is just such a soap opera and a circus and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better does it? This is a very strange one given what they did to get him.

The question is, would it be better to keep him and get rid of the others!

On the bbc a report says that it was his decision to support ETH with a new deal and back him in the market when SJR wasn't keen was a major contribution in his exit. As well as too many cooks, which was obvious for everyone see.

While I don't wish anyone in this day and age to lose a job, could someone please explain to me what a sporting director is all about? It costs millions to recruit and goodness knows how much to offload. Is there actually any benefit in between?

I think the sporting director is supposed to control the entire ethos of the club.

If SJR overruled him on ETH his job was done then. And SJR needs to take a step back and realise he's paying these people millions for a reason.

SJR has been nothing but a failure so far.

If Ashworth was pushing for Gareth Southgate I'm glad he's gone. That would have been a catastrophic appointment.

Ineos have been a complete disaster.

Predicted because of what they've done at Nice. And every sport they've invested in.

I can't see united making it to a top 4 club for many many years. Nowhere good enough on the pitch, and just as bad a board level

8 points off 4th, 9 points off relegation

And eventually you kind of are what you are. And week in and week out United are average. Or should I say they level out to even. Some weeks good, some weeks bad. They’ve been bottom half for a number of games dating back to last year now so they really are in a position that is equal to the team they have.

Still think it's been a mixed bag from them they've made a couple of poor decisions but they've also taken some of the necessary steps to change things at the club.

If Ashworth isn't fitting in then it's probably best to get rid of him quickly rather than let things get worse.

But overall yes there's a crushing reality that right now this is a mid table side and Amorim has got a massive job on his hands to change that. We won't be able to buy our way out of this hole.

Thanks for that. I just find it hard that clubs want to lower the wage bill but still employ people in those non playing positions. Agree with you on SJR so far

I think the encouraging thing so far has been there’s a more clear identity and pattern of play to United under Amorim. That should give him the time to build but I mean he’s going to need a long long time. I’d say he’s going to need at least 3-4 years.

Berrada is the main man maybe he`s run out of patience and is taking action, expect more of this if the club wants to go forward.
The Axe will start falling on players soon too.

The times Iv seen Amorim with his head in his hands already shows what he thinks about these players, he must be thinking wtf have I done.

No international tournament this summer. So hopefully he should get a lot of training ground time with them over the summer and we see a massive improvement in terms of implementation next season.

Ultimately any manager needs 3-4 years before we can expect to see proper progress. Especially with such a big change. But we really need some consistency behind the scenes too with everyone pulling in the same direction.

I'd say it's to early to say for me the most impressive thing about him is the communication he is miles better at that side of things than ETH was but on the pitch it's still a bit of a mess.
