The Government

Still a few years before the election so enough time for people to forget.

I think Sunak is done for he'll be the next lamb to the slaughter from the cabinet probably rewarded with a seat in the lords or a knighthood for his service.

Rishi should resign, and then force Boris's hand. As it was probably Boris who leaked his wife's taxes :p

How do idiots like that Michael Fabricant get elected? I mean for a start how do you take a man with a wig that ridiculous seriously?

His comments yesterday about nurses and teachers enjoying a drink in the staff room is just bonkers. I mean like normal people they might go to the pub for a drink after work to celebrate an occasion or just because it's been a tough day but the suggestion that the staff room in these sort of places is like a wetherspoons is mad. Like all of us in lockdowns the pubs were shut didn't mean we started bringing a load of cans in to work.

Back in the winter months of the last lockdowns schools had to lock staff rooms and any communal areas they also had to spend winter teaching with windows open to deal with ventilation problems. Believe me as soon as they could get out of that building they were gone as it was freezing and most were exhausted due to staff absences with Covid.

Some really toxic individuals in this government and people really need to wise up over who they are voting for.

We will now send Asylum Seekers to Rwanda.

It's just satire at this point surely?

The worst about this is Boris did a press conf and said it's just single men.

Finished his presser then no 10 announced it was women too, not with children. Just so it didn't asked about at the presser.

Won't this encourage more child trafficking.

Also, currently the UK spend £12,000 per assylum seeker, Australia who do a similar system as the one we propose spends £1.2m per assylum seeker.

And something like only 6% of assylum seekers are on benefits, I assume after processing, not sure.

Another good week for the Tories one of their MP's allegedly caught watching porn on his phone while sitting in the house of commons he was caught and reported by two of his fellow MP's who were appalled at his behaviour.

Also, came out that 56 MP's are currently under investigation for sexual harassment within the work place.

There was also the appalling front page of the Daily Mail last week suggesting Angela Rayner is trying to distract Boris Johnson by showing a bit of leg in parliament.

The party gate stuff rumbles on basically because we are drip fed information which puts it back on the news delaying the internal report and getting the met involved means this things has dragged on for months longer than needed.

So the Sue Grey report into lockdown parties at downing street finally gets issue today surprisingly stories straight out suggesting windfall taxes and a cost of living support scheme.

These lot really are the worst withholding support to those who've needed it most so that they can use it to bury what I imagine will be a pretty damning report into the p*ss up culture at downing street during lockdowns.

One thing that has become very clear from all this is the amount of drinking that seems to go on around government needs seriously reviewing and clamped down on. MP's seem to think most of us are cracking cans and popping corks in the staff room at work after a tough day which for the vast majority of workers couldn't be further from the truth.

I watched the show last night with people at the parties interviewed. How any Tory can back the PM is laughable.

Politics in the UK is at an all time low. Trust level zero. They just lie to save their jobs and status.

Just been reading bits, a Karaoke machine was in no.10, wasn't singing banned? And she didn't fully investigate the Abba party at no.10, but Boris said he was interviewing for Dominics role....... jeez, really!

As expected he rolled into PMQ refused to resign, blagged about being humble, took a pop at the opposition, gave himself a pat on the back about vaccine roll outs and unemployment levels.

Until his own party boot him out we are just powerless to do anything about it and they won't do that as they are to afraid.

I often wonder what other countries must think of us when they see Boris how can anyone look at a guy like him and think he's a serious leader.

How much more scandal can there be against this guy and his cronies?

Boris faces a vote of confidence today at 6pm.

54 or more Tory MP's called for the vote.

He'll win, needs somthing like 180 odd votes to be safe. He employs 160 in gov roles.

I suppose it least it will bring a close to it all. Boris is never going to leave, even if he only wins by 1, so all this talk is just a waste of everyones time. Need to wait for the next gen election then the people can make their choice.

It's a quick death or a slow death for him now May also survived a vote of confidence but was gone within 6 months.

Boris knows the show is over it's just about how many stick the knife into him now.

They're expecting another by election defeat this week so they can see the mood shifting away from them if they want to retain their seats in the next election they probably need to get rid of Boris as he's toxic to all of them.

The Tory's are the part of the establishment when Boris is getting booed at the biggest establishment event in decades the Queens jubilee then they know he's lost the support of their voting base.

They said on the radio he's going to lose both by's, one to Lab and one to Lib Dems.
It won't matter, he's got at least a year afer this before another vote can be held. He's not half the statesperson May was, he will never leave.

One seat was already labour and they're expected to keep hold of it the seat the Tories currently hold is expected to go to the lib dems think they lost a few seats in the previous by by elections and they took a hammering in local elections.

Will be incredible if he does go to deliver that massive majority back in 2019 to then be voted out just over 3 years later is a hell of a turnaround.

He's always found a way to wiggle out and cling on to something to turns things back in his favour but feels like he's run out of lives finally.

MP's will vote thinking of their future if they stand by this guy and he continues to bring shame on himself when he eventually has to call that election they'll be wiped out. They need him out now so they can bury all the shame and scandal with Boris give the new PM a chance to freshen up the message before they go to the polls.

They're both Tory seats currently I believe. One they took from labour last time out one a long time Tory seat Lib Dems are expected to take.

My bad I thought the Wakefield one was a Labour seat where someone had been forced to resign must have misheard it on the news the Tories took it in the last election guess that was one of the "red wall" wins.

He survives 148 MPs voted for him to go just short of the 180 required.

The longer he stays the more damage he will do to the party in the build up to the next election like May he should fall on his sword but his ego won’t allow him.

It's not great for the public though we need a government that can come up with proper plans to tackle the big issues instead we've got a government that is crumbling.

There are major issues with high inflation, cost of living, the implications of Brexit on Northern Ireland, war in Ukraine, trade deals etc.

It's time to move on, he won the support, he won't leave. Just drop it all now and let them govern and the public can decide in two years time.

Move on? He's not moving on with anything he's got no support. 4 in 10 of his own MP's don't think he's good enough.

He won't make it through the summer.

He won the democratic vote, he won't leave, all this chat isn't going to help the UK.

Of course he should go, but he won't. Nothing will change until the public get a gen election. Just going over the same old stuff for the next two years will help nobody.

There is no way Boris is getting outed this summer.

He didn't win his party won if 40% of his party are saying he's not fit to govern especially when his party holds a massive majority that creates a big problem for our democracy to work.

The only difference to May is will these MP's start blocking his policies in parliament effectively making it impossible for him to act as PM. That is why she had to resign as without the large majority she couldn't get her Brexit policies through.

Look, I don't want to back Boris, he's a fool and shouldn't be in government.

But what you said is nonsense, he won the vote, it was a binary vote, and the people who had confidence won. You can't just keep voting until you get the result you want. Or Brexit would still be knocking about. He won the vote, the people who voted against it need to accept it or leave.

May left because she said she if her Brexit deal didn't get approval she would, it didn't get approval so she resigned. Parliament was at a dead end on Brexit.

also, this wasn't a vote on policy, so why would they vote against those.

Of course we aren't going to keep voting until he's gone he won so that draws a line under it for now but how far away is the next scandal?

As we start moving towards the next election which has to be held before Jan 2025 his party needs to decide if they feel they can win with him in charge. In theory he's safe from another vote for 12 months. 2.5 years is a very long time in politics so he's going to need to deliver some big wins to his voter base but that isn't going to be easy.

Like I said the difference to May is will the MPs who are against him stop backing his policies I suspect not as this isn't a vote against his policy it's a vote against his character.

I'm a Conservative voter. That may make me unpopular with some people but I am. But I'm finding it hard to justify my vote for them after this.

If he gets voted in during the next gen election the UK needs to take a serious look at itself. Basicaly they would want a liar in charge.

I hate all the smoke and mirrors this whole cabinet uses. They are all despicable.

Today they are sayng he only 51% of the vote to get in power in the first place so this is an improvement. Which is incomparable. That was a vote that included 3 people. Not a vote that was just him. They think people are stupid and will just take that in and assume he's liked more.

Yeah he's surrounded himself with people who are fiercely loyal to him first which in a way is clever as it's hard to see any of them knifing him in the back but when you see them you can't help but think are these really the best we have to offer as a country.

The way they've all gone out to cheer for him as well means they'll all have to go down with him.

Another sleazy story about Boris appeared and this disappeared quite quickly over the weekend about him trying to appoint his wife to a £100,000 a year advisor job within his team when he was foreign secretary.

At the time Carrie wasn't officially with Boris he was still married to his previous wife and having an affair with Carrie.

This is what we are dealing with here and while everyone is entitled to a private life when you are PM I think the people do deserve to know a bit about your private life.

The story was printed in early editions of the times and quickly removed from later editions on the print run and never went online.

2 by elections lost as expected 1 to labour and 1 to lib dem.

Both heavy defeats in Wakefield Labour won by a country mile to regain one of the red wall seats and in Tiverton the Tories lost a huge majority to the lib dems.

Chairman of the Party Oliver Dowden has resigned.

Boris has jetted off to Rwanda I'm sure many will be thinking if only he was on one of those deportation flights his party are so keen to get off the ground.

More scandal from the Tories.

Deputy whip Chris Pincher resigned and was subsequently suspended due to some drunken behaviour on Thursday night. Following this another 6 people have come forward with allegations against him.

He previous stepped back from a similar role in 2017 after he was accused of making inappropriate approaches to a colleague.

You really do have to question the judgement of the people making decisions in this party when they are appointing a guy with a thing like this on the record to such an influential role in the party.

Johnson is denying he knew anything about his history when he appointed him.

On the other side of the floor there was suggestion that we'll hear this week if Durham police will be charging Kier Starmer over his curry night in Durham. If he is fined he has said he will resign from his position as leader of the labour party.
