In recent Summer transfer windows United have usually signed 3 or 4 players for the first team.

For me, in no particular order, United should make signings in the following positions: striker, playmaker at 10, centre midfielder, centre back.

What say you, in what 4 positions should United prioritise in the Summer?

We can’t sign more centre backs, there’s enough there to get by next season if Maguire stays.

There is no way we sign 7 players in 1 summer but in those areas we need massive improvements to even think about getting back into European spots.

We need at least;
A keeper ( But I think we are stuck with Onana)
A decent DM, someone in the Keane mould.
An AM
A proven Striker

I'm not going for centre backs because I think the ones we have are decent, they just don't have confidence in the one they have behind them at the moment.
When I say "In the Keane mould" I mean a decent tackler, a ball winner
AM someone who can act as the engine in midfield, dominate the play, influence the game.
Obviously a striker who can score on a regular basis, we need a player with 30 goals a season in them.

We also need a Captain, motivator, not a whinger and whiner, someone who can motivate and bring the players together as a unit.
Yes I know I'm dreaming

The main priority this summer is a new manager. Or Amorim understanding the 5 at the back system doesn't work in the premier league.

That keeper has to go he`s just very basic and nothing special.
Beef that midfield up...I could go on but whats the point the money wont be there

I mean we are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league and people want a new keeper?

Yeah Onana isn't great but if there's money to spend it has got to go on goal scorers.

Based on what I’ve seen…

Striker and CM need to be the top 2 priorities in the summer. Then a 10 and a right winger / wing back.

If you are ditching Amorim then you need to ditch the people who hired him.

They've picked a manager who has a system now they've got to back him and prove that they've made the right call.

Conceding too many too, of course we need something up front but its like groundhog day on here our midfield isnt good enough by a very long way, we dont control games we are always fighting fires and that comes from not having a good midfield.

I don't really rate the keeper that highly but think he's just one we are going to have to put up with for at least another year while we sort out the other areas.

The Martinez injury was a killer as that might mean we have to bring in another centre back or more likely keep Maguire for another year before letting him leave on a free.

We just have to get goals into that team.

Spurs are rubbish but ran rings around our midfield at times yesterday we were chasing shadows, I found that alarming.
We are in a lot of trouble in that area.

I don't deny the midfield needs attention I had two centre mids in my top 4 priority that's another reason not to spend money on a keeper.

Bruno isn't really a centre mid and we know both Casemiro/Eriksen are done so we need new players in that position immedietely.

The money spent under ETH has not fixed that problem 3 years later we are basically back where we started. ETH inherited a mess in midfield but the signings made in his first 2 summers have been massive flops and will basically all need to be replaced.

We need a goal scorer as a priority and a keeper to stabilise the back.
2x wing-backs.
After that, a creative/dictating CM.

Strong Turkish source says we are looking to activate Osimhen release clause in summer, trouble is Arsenal currently have the advantage. So needs a charm offensive from Vivell by the sounds of it.

Realistically every fan knows this, the problem is going to be the same as last summer and January to some extent, the stupid wages and contract lengths will stop the ones we need to off load from leaving

I can't see how we will be in the running for Oshimen, it's a no brainer for him, European football, or anonymity in a mid table team

You say that, Arsenal don't win much
That's true, however they have all but qualified for ECL football next season, if we are to sign Oshimen we will have to come up with a package that compensates for no European football.

David has refused Lille's contract offer and will be free come the summer

What do people think of Angel Gomes coming back?

A few rumours about it recently. Could be a very good signing on a free.

A talented player but I think Utd have got to get physically bigger as a side so not sure we can sign another small player.

Set pieces have become such a big thing in the premier league now that I don't think you can have to many players under 6ft in your team anymore.

I don't see enough French football to really say to much about him or David. The worry would be can he play the way he plays under pressure in the premier league where teams are much better at pressing and on the other side of the ball can he compete in that physical battle with much better opposition.

Yeah a bit of a no brainer for me. He obviously doesn’t have that physicality but I guess he would replace someone like Eriksen in the squad. I doubt he would be on mega wages and if it doesn’t work out, he’s got a high enough stock from his time with Lille and a few appearances for England to get a decent little fee for him if we decided to sell.

I haven’t seen much of David beyond a few games for Lille and Canada in the WC but again if he wants to come it would add some much needed squad depth for no fee.

In our financial position, picking up these kind of deals could be what we need to do in the short term.

My concern would be he's very similar to what we already have. Maybe if he's going to replace someone?
Replaces Erikson as a rotational midfielder in the squad would be my thinking. Can offer cover for the player next to Ugarte and the 10 position,.

I don't really rate Gomes myself.

David would be a huge upgrade on what we have, Gomes not really a starter

If we had money I wouldn't be looking at David.

But clearly we don't have any.
