Wat are your thoughts on the red card?

I think it's red. A poorly executed tackle showing his studs because he's over run the ball needlessly endangering the opponent. You just can't go head on to people with slide tackles anymore.

I think it was a little harsh. I wouldn't have been happy had that been agsinst us. However it happens. Like i said earlier, Herrera has had 2 harsh red cards and I dont remember a lit of sympathy for him.

He's gone in studs up over the top of the ball and Herrera is lucky his legs aren't in the way as he would have been hurt.

Pretty sure under the laws of the game that is a straight red to flip it if Larson only got a yellow he could consider himself lucky.

If Larsson makes proper contact, it's a potential leg break. I don't think it was harsh at all.

I don't see that much of an argument. He makes contact with Herrera there, Herrera is out for 8 months.

My son agrees with all of you. I think i might be showing my age. I dont think it's a shocker of a red card but i was surprised by it.

Rules are very strict now if you recklessly endanger an opponent it's a straight red.

He's studs up and knee height on a tackle where the ball is on the floor. I think in PL games you normally only see a yellow but ref fed to the rules it's a red.

I have no sympathy for any player that goes off their feet, if Herrera's leg was in the way of the right foot then it could have broke his leg. So yeah red card for me.

Straight red for me. The ref got it spot on. I didn't spot it in real time. But looking at it again it looked a definite red.

I think it was a bit harsh, didn't really like Herrera rolling around either.

He still got studded above the shin pad if he's hurt he's entitled to react in a natural way didn't get the impression he was faking it even though he didn't take it full on I imagine it still hurt.

I know what you mean - it wouldn't have even been a free kick 10-15 years ago. By the letter of the law nowadays the ref probably made the correct decision, but I know I'd be slightly outraged if it was a United player getting a red for that.

Nah. He hops on one leg, looks at the ref and falls to the floor to begin the ubiquitous dying fly.

Herrera being a bit of a snide sh*tbag kind of makes me like him more
