Scott McTominay

I swear if ETH cured world hunger, people would moan he didn’t do it quick enough!

There is always a tendency to go right for the negatives and ignore the players he has started to bring through like Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad etc.

He obviously does have his flaws as a manager but he gets so much heat on here, never seen anything like it!

The fact players like Sabitzer and Weghorst were brought up in an argument about how he doesn’t improve players is ludicrous!

Hang on, that's not what happened.

Someone said he deserved credit for developing players, I'm just pointing out he hasn't.

Rashford has had his best and worst season under him, mainoo garnacho the credit goes to the youth setup. Mctom was played as a 10 for Scotland.cant just sit here and let stuff like that go unanswered.

Plenty of players have had poor seasons under him

I'd say it's more that people are over playing his hand

This is just another example of ETH not getting the credit. It’s very lazy to just say oh he hasn’t developed Garnacho or Mainoo, it was the youth setup. There is a far cry from youth team level to first team level, that’s why even the most promising youngsters fall by the wayside because the leap is so big. It’s one thing being a promising youth player but it’s totally another being ready for the first team. ETH has played it brilliantly with Garnacho and Mainoo.

Also on McTominay, yes Scotland have used him in an advanced role but that is largely irrelevant and again saying oh but ETH didn’t come up with it is another lazy argument. You still have to implement him into your own setup in that more advanced role.

Are you saying he doesn’t deserve any credit for players who have had promising development under him? Or is it just easier chastising him for the players who have been less than perfect under him?

Rashford did have his best and worst season under him but he is a wildly inconsistent player, so the fact he got a 30+ goal season out of him should be commended.

Another player who has developed quite nicely over the last couple of years is Dalot. From someone that looked like a fish out of water under other managers, he’s turned into a very consistent full back.

Plenty of players have had poor seasons under him but so have players under the greatest of managers. Stones, Grealish, Walker etc have all had very poor seasons over time under Pep - it happens.

Also did the players previously mentioned like AWB have a higher ceiling and the ability to be improved? Probably not in truth.

I guess the proof/truth will be shown if he's still at man utd come next season

I can't be bothered to pick all the holes in that post

Yeah defo, because that would mean we got top 4 and maybe even a cup

Even if he wins ANOTHER trophy for the third season running and finishes top 4 there'll still be moaning. Because people have taken a persional agenda against him and it's why they type nonsense like i've had to read today and him not being able to get the best out of McTominay when he improved him untold.

You posted the article that stated ETH was the first to do it for crying out loud (I guess you didn't realise the second half wouldn't be behind a pay wall for all) You don't have to hate everything about him and can accept he actually has done many good things like the changing of McT's best role. Like bringing through Mainoo and Garnacho. Serious question do you think the 3 players would have had the same development curve under Mourinho? You have to be able to appreciate what he has brought to the club and not be blinkered by things you don't like.

I also posted an article that said Clarke did it first and that's how I remember it.

I also am not hating on him. If somebody posts bull shit it needs calling out.

Mainoo has been at club since he was a boy, he played 23 times under ETH last year, I'm not having he developed him. Also he's been pretty bad this season so far

You bang on about mctom and rashford having their best seasons under him, then this season when players are bad it's not his fault, he can't do anything about it apparently.

It makes no sense. It's got work both ways, if you're going to hail him for best seasons, you must also do the same for bad seasons

Nothing so far has said he's good enough, unfortunately results this season are following that through.

But actually I want him to turn it around, and soon, because I'm really fed up with it

It can't be a project still, he's had 4 or 5 windows, spent a bomb, we should be much better than we are. It's depressing

On the money how much is on him and how much is on the club?

We have spent a bomb but the prices we’ve paid were outrageous.

I don’t think ETH was demanding the club break the bank for Casemiro or Antony but someone signed off those fees. We hopefully now have controls in place to stop that sort of nonsense happening again.

Been a huge turnover of the squad with Ten Hag in charge and we all agree It needs to come together quickly.
