Ruben Amorim

Our players either do not have a brain or just ignore the manager most of the time time. This is not only with ETH but also Ole too. They only pass when there is no other choice and even then they try to beat two to three people. People and me included harped how boring LVG was but he knew what he was facing and tried to implant it a possession based game so that at least we learnt the basics.
One of the main reasons why Ruud was successful in his very few games was he did something very fundamentally different to ETH. He played both Casemiro and Uguarte together.

We are so sloppy with our passing, glad he's picked up on that. Not having a pop at him, but Bruno does give a lot of possesion away. Hopefully we will stop seeing that and see the better side of Bruno

Rumours are our players are a bit confused by his methods, they never heard this strange word ‘tactics’ under ETH.

This is what I was saying a few days ago, until he sees them in training he doesn't really know what he's got in this squad, some will fit in but some won't and it will take a while but it just feels better already, I'm feeling excited.

Liked the bit at end of Neville interview where he talked about wanting to meet Keano and Fergie, doesn't understand horses though so should take him racing.

if he got those two to sit together for a meal then we’ve got someone very special.

Apparently he's told the club to limit the number of interviews he has to do in the next few months to give him as much time as possible with the team.

Seen a lot of quotes from him after the game sounds like he's willing to be pretty open with his answers he's going to need to be word perfect with that as the press are going to pounce on any little error they can twist.

The media attention will be off the scale compared to what he’s used to, he’ll be on a very steep learning curve in the next few weeks.

Talks brilliantly that is a breath of fresh air.

Lovely coat as well. Paul Smith have kitted him out well for the Manchester winter.

According to BBC Gossip, he only considers Nine of his squad as unsellable. Those Nine do not include Bruno or Garnacho. My guess is -

Yoro
Maz
De Ligt
Mainoo
Mount
Ugarte
Hojland
Amad

And possibly Onana. Struggling to come up with Nine he'd consider unsellable.

Another big summer trying to shift players on massive contracts out the door to make way for new ones.

Onana, Kobbie Mainoo, Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro

The only safe 6 according to Daily Mail.

those 6 sounds fair to me.

Although if I was naming his 6, I think I'd have Ugarte for Onana

Yeah I would say Ugarte is pretty safe to be honest after working under Amorim before.

I think there will be quite a cull in the summer to be honest, I don’t expect Casemiro, Eriksen, Lindelof, Evans, Sancho to be here next year. And that’s just to name a few.

I can see Amorim giving some of our talented youth players a go as well as dipping into the market. It’s another rebuild for sure!

One of the biggest things I'd say about this guy is he's hitting all the right notes in his press conferences. I liked Ten Hag but this guy is miles better at getting the message across than he was and if the results go well I think he'll have the press eating out of the palm of his hand.

He's made big calls but he's come out and explained them well, so far I don't think he's slipped up anywhere.

He talks clearly and with authority he's probably the first manager we've had post Fergie who I honestly feel could really get the fans right behind him if he can avoid to many bad results in his early days.

How much difference he makes to the on the pitch stuff will come down to how well the club rebuild that squad and his coaching but if they can get things right I think this guys got the personality to really bring the fan base together.

On the pitch I don't think we've seen anything to radical a lot of the goals we're conceding are still down to individual errors and going forward we are still struggling but you can see the start of something building but there's a hell of a long way to go.

He’s been knocking these pressers out the park, to think he’s new to some the worst football journos in the world and none have come close to tripping him up so far.

Our current form is WWLLWWLL

Think that was his 4th defeat in the league.

I guess it was never going to be a case of coming in and changing a decade of mediocrity. This inconsistency is nothing we haven’t seen from every manager since Sir Alex.

I think we have the right man but a hell of a lot of wrong players.

I would really like the next 5 players we sign to be absolute monsters in the air.

Totally agree! We also we need some players with a bit of aggression. Ugarte is adding some extra bite to the midfield but I think we are still very weak in all areas.

In retrospect, I feel harsh on OGS.

It is clear, more than ever, that the problem is the dressing room and the senior squad it houses. A problem that has been allowed to roll over from regime to regime. Dire times.

The only positives I can see are; the regime who assembled most of this squad (and previous) are gone, Amorin is more ruthless than OGS and ETH, the academy has some very promising talent.

I feel confident Amorin will bring us success, but we're in for a rough ride until a lot of our senior players move on.

Think the big thing for Amorim is how much of his reputation is still intact at the start of next season.

If we finish 13th how much patience will there be with him?

We aren’t going to go from 13th to 4th next season without an absolute miracle summer.

This is another rebuilding process but from an even weaker starting position than previous managers.

I do think he’s got to be a little careful. If results continue in the same way then I mean he might not see out the season. That would be a mistake and dumb to get rid of him but it’s a results business.
