Ruben Amorim

Welcome

A bit boring, that song has been done to death over the years, the best version being “When you sit in row Z and the ball hits your head it’s Zamora”, and that was sung by his own teams fans. and not rival fans mocking
Boring is a bit harsh , it’s only boring if not sang with passion. The Zamora one you mentioned changes all the words, whereas the Amorim version literally changes 1 letter so is a perfect match to the original song

seen the photo's of him at Carrington?

He seems very touchy feely with the players, very warm, you can see why his old players loved him.

Yes comes across as a very nice fella from what Iv seen, he`s going to need thick skin too dealing with being our manager it comes with the territory, Iv got a good feeling about him.

Yeah reckon we could get a march across the pitch Mourinho v Blackburn in 05 to congratulate every player if we got a big away result

He certainly talks the talk but then so did all the others.

Can he actually move the club on from the Fergie era and start getting fans believing that Utd can compete again.

There is something that just feels right about this appointment.

I think he's got two of the most important things walking straight in... that being media control and player support/understanding.

I agree he’s got a bit of an aura around him currently but that will only last a short while unless results come his way.

This is a huge beast to try and tame as there are so many eyes on everything you do. He’s got to win people over really quickly and get them on his side.

Yeah, the challenge here is huge, but I feel like he's actually going to enjoy that.

He comes across as a very confident man.

Yeah can just see from meeting staff and fans last week along with his interview there is an aura

It’s looking good, Ineos seem to have done their homework on Amorim and found a good un let’s hope it all works out we are well overdue something going right for a change.

Him on the training pitch reminds me of Fergie in the Sharp Electronics jumper back in the early days

I see a few of the players have been brown nosing the new boss on social media.

Guessing the international players will start returning Thursday/Friday so he will at least get 1 maybe 2 training sessions with the full squad before his first game.

I think he's going to be smart but don't think he'll be full suit unless it's a cup final.

Already we can see in that short video there is a plan for scoring being implemented.

Drills make a lot of difference. We used to do them when I played a bit more seriously... they really work when the right situation presents itself, it becomes second nature - almost training ground stuff.

I can't wait for his first game in charge at this point!

Apparently he makes the team that loses possession sprint back to their own goal line that way they are gaining fitness at the same time as getting used to re organising defensively.

Jackson being all negative on Talksport about him saying he needs time, then nearly fall off chair when he talks about O Hara playing at the top level.

Yes and drills would have been done under ETH just like they are under every single manager in world football. Matters not at all if you miss the numerous chances they create. Which is what has happened but blinkered people failed to see.

Im glad you're excited. But ill also be shocked if you aren't the first calling for his head within 18 months.

But I note the ETH out fanbase have already began making their excuses and suggesting it'll be a miracle if we make top 4 this season. Which is drivel.

I think there are at least 4 teams better than us, so top 4 will be tough. But points wise, there's not much in it.
It's possible for sure

Iv seen no expectations whatsoever on Amorim from United's "fanbase" so far, nothing on league positions just a change of direction.
Maybe its the down to earth honest fans I know and not some online bell ends talking out of their arses who knows?

I think top 4 is unlikely but if he gets off to a good start the gap can close quickly. 4th down to 14th is only separated by a few points but our goal difference basically makes it an extra point.

There's also 5th which will likely be a CL spot this season and if he sorts out the form enough then the Europa is easily gettable so he's got a few routes into the Champions League.

Really what we need to see this season is the new system and style really starting to look set in not saying it's going to be perfect but you want to see how all the pieces will at least start looking like they'll set in. The biggest thing he's got to fix is the goals the team has got to start scoring a lot more goals if they are going to climb the table.

People getting excited over a 2 minute training video probably need to get a grip these drills will be done under every manager the test is replicating it in a game situation when there's an opponent doing every thing they can to stop you.

Yeah will be tough to get a run going with trips to Emirates and Etihad before xmas, then of course Anfield in early January as well

At the current pace it's looking like 65 points could get you top 4 generally you want to be getting 70 to be sure.

For Utd to reach 70 points this season they need to be picking up 2 points per game which is some going for a team that sits 13th at this stage.

I think the reality is we probably expect very little points wise from those 3 tough away games anything from those games would be seen as a bonus in the current circumstances but the other games we player in between are all games where we should expect 3 points.

His biggest issue will be goals there just isn't anyone you can bank on as a goalscorer in that squad. There's plenty of players who could hit form and suddenly bang them in but there's no one that you'd put money on getting another 10 goals this season.

Not getting a goalscorer was the death of ETH

they need to go into the market in Jan

I don't care how United play as long as he wears a nice suit, and keeps his beard trimmed
its all the talk.......between the sponsors.

A tiny window into the atmospheric shift around Amorim away from the pitch is told by the club's sponsors checking to see what he will be wearing in the dugout during his first match in charge at Ipswich on Sunday.

His introductory interview, in which he donned a sleek green Adidas track jacket, went down so well that sales for that item went up

A source from Paul Smith's partnership with the club admitted they are pushing for him to be in their gear this weekend because "he is marketing gold: he doesn't try, he is just authentic, and people respond to that."

Was Rashford banging in all those goals in his first season the worst thing to happen to him?

Made people think he was a 30 goal a season man when he wasn’t.
