Ruben Amorim

Yeah you do have to question the decision to be honest. I mean they heavily back ETH in the summer and then sacked him (rightly but too late) and brought in a manager that plays a different formation and doesn’t have the players to make it work.

I think the players we signed this summer can all play his system.

His issue really is he hasn't found solutions to the wing back problems within the current group.

Also, these lot have proven in the last 18 months that even in a 4-2-3-1 they're still crap.

Amorim must have been given assurances that money will be available in the summer to improve that squad.

Whoever's in charge they have to get these high earners who don't get on the pitch out the door as quickly as possible.

100% this. Everyone is banging on about the system, but these players have been just as abject in more 'traditional' formations. Decade of poor financial management and recruitment sadly coming home to roost. Players with poor application and attitude. This reset is going to hurt in the meantime.

More dressing room leaks, that's going to upset him even more, perhaps this why he wants to get shot of some players pronto

There's a lot of speculation that Rashford/Garnacho's family leak quite a lot of information to the press.

Amorim probably now thinking this is a much bigger job than he thought, like all the others that have tried since SAF

As long as he isn't going to start calling players out in the media, and keep it to his office then all should be fine

I'm not sure it's just the wing backs, when you watch the game play is breaking up because our forwards can't even control a ball, at the moment bringing on Zirkzee for Hoijland is like trying to put a plaster on an amputation.

But we also don’t bring the ball forward as a team.

Pumping the ball forward and being direct is an easy way to give possession back time and time again. Even teams that are good at it from memory only retain possession 30% of the time. It isn’t like we are good at that we don’t pick up second balls after going direct.

The issue I see is we take forever to take our goal kicks, the defenders can never find a ball into the wide players or midfield through it always goes back to the keeper then we have no out ball.

It just feels like there’s a lot of work to do but I don’t think I’ve seen a game where any of them have looked like they’ve enjoyed that wing backs are role and really put in a top class performance there. Dalot at Anfield is the only one that springs to mind.

Amorim when asked about Marcus Rashford

“I will put the GOALKEEPERS COACH Vital before I put a player who does NOT give the MAXIMUM every day”.“I will NOT change in that department”.

I hope not, he's only been here a few minutes, not had a window and got zero money.

I imagine he wished he'd never come.

Whole place is a shit show

Questions have to be asked we've been far worse under him than ETH. It's woeful.

But I wouldn't have him gone.

Fans starting to blame him I see

I don’t see why he cannot be questioned. There are many issues at the club, most have been present since a time before he was at the club but he is definitely making questionable decisions and we are seeing no improvement whatsoever. The tactic, simply isn’t working, the results are appalling, the inability to keep a clean sheet is alarming and very few have shown any sign of taking to a tactic and style of play.

I think it’s entirely fair to judge Amorim and to debate what he does and how he goes about things and if it’s deemed that he is at fault, to criticise. Two months or two decades at the club, nobody should be absolvent of blame.

It has to be noticed we are creating a lot less than we were under ETH. Those that wanted ETH gone said it was for the lack of attacking style and our attacking style lacks a lot more now.

The football isn't good but the lack of noise regarding our attacking performances is more worrying! Makes it seem like it was an attack on the man not actually football related.

ETH was awful. A terrible manager. And should not bench benchmark.
If he hadn't signed such awful players we wouldn't be this bad

Ten Hag isn’t an awful manager. An awful manager doesn’t win two trophies. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ten Hag get a top job in the summer and prove his worth.

We have about 4 players that can play the Amorim way most of them simply can’t adapt to his system and it’s now looking like a big gamble with needing to ship out the majority of the squad, it better work or we’ll sink out of sight for years to come.

He proved his worth here. As you said two trophies. Just never got the respect he deserved from an ungrateful fanbase.

However those people that were criticising him should be criticising what we are currently seeing. It's been long enough to expect some attacking fluidity not the drivel on display today.

At Ten Hags worse we weren't this bad going forward.

Yeah Ten Hag wasn’t an awful manager but a lot like Amorim he inherited a poorly balanced squad with a lot of problems. By the end though he did have his own players but there was no real sign of progress. Was great we won a couple of trophies but a lot of the time we were riding on the seat of our pants. There was no real method so needed someone to come in and make us solid but also retain the attacking philosophy. Sadly Amorim hasn’t been able to do that yet but again he inherited a whole heap of junk.

I do think Amorim is too defensive right now. We are lacking goals so it makes no sense setting up so defensively, we need sparks all over the pitch which is not what we are seeing now. I can see he is trying to make us tight at the back but we aren’t tight and it’s stunting our attacking play. So think he’s got to go for it a bit.

It’s just a very depressing season so far under both ETH and Amorim. Can’t wait for it to end to be honest and get a clean slate in the summer and try and bring in some fresh blood and ship out the dross.

Really

Milk cup, nobody cares.

After our worst prem finish he fluked a one off game on the back of Darren Fletcher's tactics which kept him his job. Which was a mistake by the board

He then followed up with our second worst, by 1 point, start to a season.

He bought a load of players and emptied the bank, and pretty much all those players are up for sale.

Ive never disliked a manager for any club more. He put this club back years.

And he's now being used as a bench mark.

The manager has a squad of players that have under achieved for years. He's weeding out the dross, got no money to spend and none of his players. No pre season, barely any training sessions. He also didn't want to come mid season because of this.

Yet some fans are hounding him already. The same fans who protected ETH who lets not forget, was sacked for being terrible. It's actually laughable how you can go from slagging everyone off who wanted a manager out after 2.5 years, 600m and no improvement and then slag a manager after 4 months and no money.

Give him a chance FFS.

That's embarrassing, slagging a manager who's just arrived. Not slagging a manager after 2.5 years and 600m

It doesn't matter if he does well elsewhere. He was terrible here.

Can we just move on rather than bring him into every conversation

I have faith he will turn this shit show of a team around
