Premier League 2024/25: Southampton vs Man United - Sat 14th Sept - 12:30 KO

The main problem with ETH is that he cannot accept anything else apart from his way. SAF and others were clever enough to bring changes to their sides when things did not work out. ETH keeps doing the same thing over and over again and ending up in disaster. Now we have Ugarte in midfield. Maybe he might run around bit more than Cas but he is also going to end up being isolated and overrun.
We need one person who can hold the ball, who is quick enough to dribble away from the opposing midfielders and pass well. We do not have anyone who can do this.

Don't worry, anybody who knows football realises Ugarte is only one player, they won't be expecting him to be a one man show, he's a DM. It'd be madness to want a lot from that type of player other than winning the ball and some simlple distribution. If he does that he can be proud of himself.

I agree with you about that missing creative player - I've been saying it for a while. It's another baffling one when it comes to ETH, a man who was after signing FDJ, a player that would fit this role perfectly. I'm not saying go and get him, but if you know your team needs this type of player why not buy someone who wants to come play for us? Sometimes I think ETH just buys players and has no real plan on the whole.

Yeah can't think of a single time ETH has made changes to his side to ensure the win. FA Cup final was just the exact same thing he's always done with no changes.

Broken record much? One time he got it right, and his two trophies are all you two wallys go on about. You always leave out mentioning the Coventry game, a really poor opponent who should have beaten us. I'm still not sure to this day their goal was offside. Amazing tactical genius.

He got lucky on the Fa Cup and if you don't think so then you really need a new sport to watch and comment on, as this is not the one for you.

Eriksen has like how many good games under his belt right now? How much confidence?

Baffling stuff again by this coach.

Ugarte must be tired and shagged out after a long squawk.

I know people derided my earlier view, but if he loses today, he has to go - this team shows what a tactical twat he is.

Eriksen is a surprise thought he’d try and give Cas a vote of confidence and start him here. You do worry about him mentally has his head just gone?

Guess Mainoo might play a little deeper. Not a lot of power in that midfield, going to need to look after the ball well.

Not surprising to see the lads who’ve been to South America start on the bench.

He’s had 1 training session with his new team mates and just had a long haul flight back from international duty. He also had no pre season and is stepping into a new league.

It isn’t an ETH thing most other managers do the exact same thing.

Terrible penalty, Onana did all he could though, so well done.

Not happy with this performance at all.

Great finish. That's the guy we need to get his confidence back up, and with goals like that he will.

Good on Marcus.
Might not be the performance so far, but points count.
Hopefully they can relax and play

Not able to watch but sounds like a ropey start then kicked into gear and got the goals.
