Both of us have had a little bit of an iffy start and sit on 7pts a piece. It is crucial for us to start getting some more wins on the board and not just playing well without reward.

I think the below is basically our strongest team with the exception of Shaw and potentially Yoro coming in, so think this is probably what we will play.

Onana

Maz - De Ligt - Martinez - Dalot

Ugarte - Mainoo

Garnacho - Bruno - Rashford

Hojlund

He needs a win here as it’s starting to feel like he’s circling the drain again, we have got better but it’s from a very low starting point.

In terms of selection my guess is

Onana

Maz De Ligt Martinez Dalot

Ugarte Casemiro

Amad Bruno Rashford

Zirkzee

Think Casemiro starts to try and target their weakness on set pieces. That weakness will only be exploited if there’s good delivery from Bruno and I’m guessing Amad on in swinging corners.

Spurs play tonight so that’s a day less to prepare for them.

He needs a good performance and result at home because I think many who’ve been patient are starting to lose their patience with him.

On paper they're perfect for us to play against. But just if the fans are willing to understand the way to play them is to sit in let them control the ball and Garnacho and Rashford destroy them on the counter.

With the appalling start to the season, is this a must win game, probably is.

I think ETHs whole reputation is under a more focused scrutiny from now, no more excuses its time he started to deliver.

if we lose, the pressure on his job is sure to mount.

I believe we will win this, and we should easily.

Porto and Villa to follow

Big week for ETH

It's not been appalling. Granted, it's not good, but let's not over do it.

Football is better, control of games is better, defence is better.

Just need the strikers to start doing their jobs and a bit more urgency when pushing for a win.

ETH has accepted we need to be more hungry and that Zirkzee and Hojland will take time to develop.

If we continue in this fashion, we will finish mid table, we've dropped points against Brighton, Palace, Liverpool and Twente

It's not a great start. The football is better, but it was a low bar.

Drop points to Spurs, Porto and Villa it's pretty dire and the pressure will build, rightly so.

Massive 3 games

Why buy two stikers with poor records and need time to develop. Do they think anybody will accept a few years waiting for players to develop?

The board have come out and said they want a Prem title in 3 years time... hahaha

He needs a win.

The gap can be easily recovered it’s so early in the season but he can’t afford to let it drift much further

We may as well put that on a repeat loop for every four games, until 2028 of course, when we will have the Champion's League sewn up.

I figured he might pick that side.

Son out, which is a result. I can't see us scoring 4.

Could someone (anyone) please tell me why highly paid professional players can't even find a teammate with a simple pass. This is last season all over again!

We need to play Ugarte and Cas together for sometime especially against top teams. ETH needs to go as he does not seem to be able to change things when things do not go according to plan. Bruno is a top player but in this set up he is a liability. He can pull something out occasionally but that is not what you need in a team that has to play in a set way. Mainoo is a good player but he is too slow to handle anything defensively. These days if you play in midfield you need to be able to sprint a bit at least.

This has been a horrible half of football to watch from a united point of view

This has been as bad as I have seen through the last few years. Like really really bad.

Bruno is a tad unlucky slipping but still went very high so no complaints.

There's been absolutely no progression in this team whatsoever, bossed at home by Spurs.

Awful

Disgraceful half from the players. No intensity or leadership. We don't play with any tempo. Every attack is slowed down.

Said it many times other teams look faster and fitter than United players, we're still a ramshackle out fit that look like it's the first time they've seen each other, Spurs dominating at OT is embarrassing. Could be 2 or 3 down and Bruno now making a win practically impossible, I thought a red was a bit harsh though.

I think if you tackle someone from their knee down to their ankle, there's a good chance you're going off

Dalot shocking for the goal. How does he not see the danger? Not even busting a gut to get back with only 3 mins on the clock.
