I don't mean must win in the traditional definition. But if we lose two of the first 3, then pressure will be put on the team/coaches, which could spiral

yes, I did say we looked better, but still not good enough. 10 games, the season could be over by then. I think this board will move quickly if they dont see an improvement quickly, and I fear Tuchel.

I agree that's basically what I said if we got into that 2 week break with 3 points from 9 with two defeats the mood is going to be pretty low.

I didn't expect Utd to turn up in game 1 and suddenly look amazing after that disaster last season especially with so many new players coming in and the core of the team having missed pre season and a couple of starters still missing. The first 3 games before that international break are just about getting as many points on the board as possible but I 100% agree it can set the tone for the season if it goes badly. We've played 3 games so far against City, Fulham and Brighton and from what I've seen and read about City we were probably the better side with the better chances in all 3 games but we haven't converted them into 3 wins which is a problem.

I use 10 games as a marker as it's roughly 25% of the season and at that point you should have enough evidence to say if this is going right or wrong not just with results but also performances.

So far we've had 3 good but not great performances
 
Liverpool is only his first hurdle in my view. If we beat them, sure, I'll be happy and will gladly praise ETH because that game is always a hard one to win home or away. His real fight though is what comes next. He must keep winning and go on a run - those runs make all the difference. His best run of form is 6 wins I believe. That's not good enough and it's what all the pro ETH fans always ignore. They show me here they have no clue what it takes to win a league or finish top 4.
 
That's why I've said 10 games in by then we'll have played a mixture of the top and bottom sides and we'll have a proper picture of how the team is looking this season.

Are they in with a real shot of a top 4 finish or are they looking like a side that are going to struggle to keep the pace.

Top 4 spot you need to be going at 2 points a game . 70+ points and 70+ goals should get you in a top 4 spot. If we get to 10 games in and we aren't around 20 points on the board we're probably going to come up short in the end.

We need to show that we can consistently beat the bottom half sides home and away rather than just pick up 1 off results in big games. A league season is about being consistent against the weaker sides in the league
 
Think I'd be happy with that. 10 games will be a good indicator as to where we are at.
 
Alright if we haven't got 16 points after 8 games then we sack him :p
