Brighton have been a very tricky game for us over the last few years, so this one is a toughie and they looked very good against Everton at the weekend.

I suspect it’ll be the same team as Fulham. Zirkzee could come in from the start but ETH was saying he needs to build up fitness so maybe on the bench again. I would bring in Garnacho for Rashford personally.

I think it's more Everton were awful.

I would change my predictions and have them as going down after watching that.

These are the games we must win, we must prove we have moved forward from last season

We need a striker now. All this false 9 business is unbelievable. With Ruud around we need strikers he can coach. Toney if he joins will cause a few problems if he does get the chances. when we had Rasmus fit, we never created any chances. When he is injured we create all those chances and there is no striker in the right position.

Brighton are no mugs especially at home but Everton were woeful and must be relegation fodder this season.
Zirkzee should be able to manage at least the first half possibly an hour get him up top.

Everton are always relegation fodders and always seem to pull something out. I cannot remember us being comfortable against any side last season so Brighton will start as favorites especially at home.

We won there on the final day last season.

I'm sure Mitoma will be happy he no longer has to deal with AWB and Welbeck has often been a thorn in our side since leaving he's developed a nasty habit of scoring against us. The other absolute pest Gross is gone which is fantastic news as his record against us was ridiculous.

They had a great result on the opening day against a very poor looking Everton side the huge Onana shaped hole in their midfield was really exposed. I didn't really know what to expect from Brighton this season another new manager but they've kept the squad together this summer.

Will be interesting to see if he makes a few changes I suspect he will as players get closer to full fitness and we move more towards what will be the starting XI. Maguire apparently came off with cramp but you wonder if he will lose out to De Ligt.

Onana

Maz De Ligt Martinez Dalot

Casemiro Mainoo

Garnacho Bruno Rashford

Zirkzee

Think it will be the same team with Zirkzee and Garnacho getting another 30 minutes.

Brighton had a very good pre season, so their confidence will be good. Tough match.

Brighton are a good side, but we must be beating these teams to show we have moved on.

I don't think we can accept a loss or even a draw at game 2. Things like that get away from you and beofre too long it's all over by Christmas.

Doesn't matter how they do it, they must win.

After this it's Liverpool at home so think he'll want to get the players who are short of minutes a start ahead of that game.

It doesn't necessarily need to be a win on Saturday we just need to turn up and make the game competitive and have a bit of control.

We created 4 or 5 really good chances vs Fulham hopefully we can do the same here but be more ruthless with them.

Thoughts are with Amad tonight after he announced earlier that his Mam had died today.

No news on if he travelled with the rest of the team or stayed back in Manchester trying to arrange a flight back home to be with family.

Stay strong young man.

Mount needs to do more than running today. That's not going to be good enough away from home.

Thought Garno should start before Mount, good to see better options on the bench though.
On paper our team is far better than Brighton’s this should be an away win.

The opposite, surely? More creativity is required for home matches, more running required in away matches?
The amount of running required will be team dependant, how good they are at keeping the ball and with tactics, but that wasn't really my point. Regardless of the amount of running required he needs to do something other than that. Hold the ball, look good on it... get an assist, get a goal. Something like that.

Joe Cole says there isn’t a better run club than Brighton in Europe…
Are you listening Pep?

I really fear these 12:30pm kick-off times. I don't think I can remember one time in my life we've played well.

Would of had to be a diving header I think.

Great chance though, probably should score. I feel if that was Garnacho, it's 1-0.

Because it's us. I can't think of any other reason, the ref even went over to him. It has to be a card.

Amad needs subbed, his head isn't right. I can't blame him, it's a manager error.

Maguire awful for the goal, and then has the cheek to mouth he couldn't get the ball.

United have been okay without creating clear cut opportunities. Brighton have done little. Should Ten Hag make half time changes? Garnacho for Amad?

It'll just be more ammo to fire at ETH if he isn't replaced. He shouldn't have even started.

The manager is still very much a mystery to me. Trying so hard to support him, but he makes it bloody hard.
