Confident? Nope me neither!

Feel like ETH’s head if firmly on the chopping block and a defeat here could see him toppled.

We really need to sort out our defensive fragility from last night or the Villa frontline will have a field day.

Got to keep the faith though! 3-1 United!

Can't see us getting anything given our recent form. Too many players below par. Plus, credit to Villa, they are a good side.

Can’t see anything but losing here too many having bad seasons, Bruno Martinez DeLigt Mainoo…and more.
Possibly ETHs last game, if not it won’t be for much longer.

It is going to be difficult with Watkins, Rogers and Duran bang in form, and a world class goalkeeper.

We have a stupidly good record vs Villa beat them home and away last season.

That's about as optimistic as I can be they have made a really good start to the season and confidence seems to be high for them.

Ten Hag is going to have to change what he's been doing so far will he go back to the more pragmatic 4-2-2-2.

Just remember - he's not Harry Potter.

Don't expect any wizadry or a spellbinding display by his team.

He's lost his mind.... I mean wand.

I really don’t think ETH will be able to win with a lot of fans. If we win today he’s lucky but if we lose he’s the worst manager in the world. Even we went on a run of wins it’ll just be ‘delaying the inevitable’.

His consistency is the problem. One win is not going to be enough to appease people like me. I will give him credit for the win should it happen, but I will also expect that he builds upon it.

The time is over for excuses and he's got to start getting consistent results.

I am of the opinion that he's never going to make it here, and that is well documented, but I wouldn't mind being proved wrong if we went on a good run and he turned things around, so i don't think he's in a 'no win' situation with all fans, even me.

Onana

Maz Evans Maguire Dalot

Eriksen Mainoo

Garnacho Bruno Rashford

Hojlund

No pace in central defence or central midfield against very agile and quick Villa attackers - what could go wrong!

Think he’s definitely gone for experience and I can see why Eriksen keeps being played - he’s one of the few midfield players who can actually pass the ball effectively.

It’s either going to be a tactical masterclass with two experienced guys at the back or we are going to get moosed!

Same old problems all season we can’t keep the ball for more than a couple of passes

I said all summer we needed a striker. You don't score you don't win, doesn't matter how much you strengthen midfield.

I thought we'd done ok, then when I think of our best player it's probably Evans or Mazraoui. Which says it all

Giving away lots of cheap free kicks too

Still in it though

Very hard watch this.

Hojlund offering nothing as usual. He's going down quickly in my estimation. We should get Zirkzee on for the second half.

Mainoo having a stinker he thinks he’s got all the time in the world and is slow to get back, Hojlund’s touch is poor, Bruno slack passing, creating very little up front apart from that it’s great.
And the ref is an absolute nob only getting the card out for United players

Eriksen’s struggling now he’s not been a 90 minute player for ages but stays on

What you have done there is buy your doomed manager another few weeks. During a time that would have been an ideal in season time to change the manager. What an awful game all around.

I couldn’t believe how poor the quality was. The crossing, passing and control on both sides was atrocious.

Thought he played it right.

Wasn’t pretty but after a terrible week we probably needed to go back to basics.

Unsure of the criticism of today. We played a team that everyone said were on great form and kept it tight.

Just nonsensical rubbish as usual on here.

It was a boring match, we set up to nullify them.

I don't think we ever really went for the win, and when the fans start singing attack attack attack you know there are problems.
I don't know if villa had an off day but on that showing I don't want Emery.

I think ETH has had his chance and blown it. He may well be a decent manager, but this role is not suiting whatever his strengths are.
We do appear to be getting worse.

14th is unacceptable, when you look at that table it's just not on.

He needs to go now

That's the type of game that will come every week under Southgate. Pray they don't want him.

I'm not sure how to look at today to be honest - can I really blame ETH for trying to save his job? I don't think so. Was I bored out of my mind? Yes.
