A real test to see how Amorim’s changes are working. We’ve had a couple of good home wins in the last two games but this is a toughie. Arsenal are hitting a bit of form after a wobbly period.

With Mainoo and Martinez out I would say something like the below we will be looking at:

Onana

Maz - De Ligt - Shaw

Amad - Ugarte - Casemiro - Dalot

Rashford - Bruno

Hojlund
Was a toss up between Rashford and Garnacho but those two goals yesterday may just give him a little pep and he could potentially start to get on a roll. I would expect Shaw to come in for Martinez as a bit of a like for like.

Tough old game but I think we’ll stuff ‘em!

Think Bruno may be a doubt, was sat with an ice-boot(a new one on me) on in the dug-out

Start for Mount maybe ....

Onana

Maz De Ligt Maguire

Dalot Ugarte Casemiro Shaw

Rashford Hojlund Garnacho

Think we might still see a lot of changes as he works with the squad getting everyone fit.

I think he might go a bit more cautious for obvious reasons and look to be more on the break.

Current state of things any points here would be a bonus.

Think the Manager is gonna have to be careful with Maz, needs resting for his own good, if Evans is fit be tempted to play Maguire-De Ligt-Evans as the three in this game, Amad and Garno wing/back, and bring Eriksen in to play deep to stiffen up the midfield

Maguire-De Ligt-Evans
zero pace.

We are going to struggle here, they dont seem to have got the defensive side of the system down yet. Think Shaw and Maz have to start. Ugarte and maybe Mount in the middle.

Think I would keep Marcus up top and bring in Garnacho for Zirkzee. Although I can see Hojlund starting and push Marcus back.

Think we need pace and stamina in this game.

Quite interesting to see his team sheet. The bench is looking much stronger these days.

certainly we are going to need all 16 players to win this game. And for the first time in a long while, I don't really care who he picks. I think they are all trying their best and working hard on this new system

Think you need football intelligence and strength more than pace if you’re playing with 3 at the back, just so long as those ahead of them do their jobs properly, not a given obviously

not looking at the last couple of games, pace would appear to be a problem.

maybe when they know how to play the system, or are comfortable with it, you may be right, but at the moment they need pace.

We need to keep Odergaard quiet to get anything from this game, they missed him badly while out injured and have improved noticeably since his return.

Bruno is pretty incredible it has to be said... he's just doesn't miss matches.

Dress-rehearsal for the FA cup tie, hopefully we’ll have 12/15,000 fans there for that one, Choccy’s last minute penalty miss fresh in mind ..,.

IF you can only get a result in one of the games?
Draw in the League, win in the Cup would be okay.

If only one positive result, narrow defeat in the League with a young side, win in the Cup.

Love to see the whole of that end going Ape at FT

don't know the answer, so not being spikey, can anyone be arsed to find out when Arsenal last dropped points at home...

It was probably last month after all that :D

Drew at home to Liverpool and also Brighton this season.

Catching them at a bad time to be honest their injured players are now back so we're basically going up against them at full strength.

Our recent form against them isn't good

2 wins, 2 draws, 7 defeats.

Time to put that right hopefully.

Just have to be clinical Arsenal barely give you a sniff so whatever chances you do get you have to take them.

The worry has to be the space a player like Saka could find against a back 3 unless our wing backs play very deep almost making it a back 5.

Arsenal are a well established side now and playing well, we are just getting started under a new man who is experimenting with his players and the timing isn't great for us, being realistic if we get a draw i`ll be impressed.

Their set-pieces are a huge threat that we must stop. Arguably as dangerous as Odegaard and Saka.

I've predicted a loss here to be honest, but I hope I'm wrong. With Amorim now in charge we shouldn't be light-years off the pace, so the game can be won if it falls our way a bit.

Kinnell, why are we running scared of a team that lost at Newcastle and Bournemouth recently, we turn up we get a positive result

Shaw injured and hasn’t travelled with the squad.

Oh no we’re doomed, let’s try and get the game called off, where are the 58 virgins when we really need them

He's got to be sold at this point.

He's absolutely no use at all right now. To be honest I'm sick of waiting for his return too, it's always a thing. It needs to go away.

I’m guessing he’s referring to the one that smashed his leg to bits and required metal pins to be put in to put it back together.

As for selling him slim chance of that with his wages and injury record.

Ah, yeah. That one was very bad.

I do feel for him, but at this point he's of no use.

Yep I feel a bit sorry for him his body clearly can’t handle the physical demands.

It’s a shame because he had bags of potential

Hes the best left back in the country when fit. Massive shame that injury occurred. One of the few I struggle with seeing again.

Also brought out the best in Rashford. Don't think it's a coincidence that Rashfords best form is when he's got Luke outside of him.

I think Rashford change in form has come with the new manager/system myself.

With Shaw, it's difficut to say we'll miss a player we rarely have played with over the last season or 2. The problem is Martinez is out too, so the left of the three becomes a problem. Malacia will get roasted judging his last performance, I guess it's up against Saka

Maybe he'll move Dalot or Maz to LCB and play Garnacho as the LWB. They're all quite quick and if they work together they can stop Saka.

Onana
Maz-De Ligt-Dalot
Amad-Ugarte-Cas-Garnacho
Rashford-Hojlund-Bruno

I meant over the last 4 years not the last 3 games.

Rashford has always performed better with Shaw in the side and a runner overlapping him on the left side he's got a connection with.
