Post Match Discussion: Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

That was a decent point at anfield but a poor performance. We could have been a bit more attacking. Young was ineffective on the right.

Didn't get to see too much of it unfortunately. What I would say of what I saw was that once again we appeared afraid of imposing our game and were trying to stop theirs but it was only 58th to 75th minutes that I saw.

Played okay in the first half and Lukaku should have done better in our best chance. The second half we were diabolical in possession and were mightily lucky that Liverpool weren’t more clinical with their end product. Overall good point but the way City are destroying everything in front of them we have to do better.

Young and Valencia just did the same thing all game. So our right hand side was nothing really all game.

The play between Martial and Miki was fantastic and Lukaku should have done better with that chance. It was at a good height for the keeper and wasn't near a corner. I was abit underwhelmed by Rom today. I know he didn't get the service but he didn't hold the ball up well and lost more headers against Lovern and Matip then he won. If I'm being honest then two terrible centre backs pocketed him today.

Darmian and Jones looked very good. De Gea is the best keeper in the world and proved that again today. That's 9 clean sheets in our last 10. So overall a point isn't a bad result there. I would have liked to see us go for it abit more of course but I can see the long term advantage of nicking points on the road in rivals houses.

We were awful. Mourinho needs to know when a team is there to go at. We went to one of the worst defences in the league today and troubled them once.

I'd agree with that to an extent. We should have been more arrogant and confident in our own game and gone to Anfield and asked more questions of them. It does feel like an opportunity missed.

The flip side of it is that a Liverpool win today would have really kick started their season. Nullifying them today just frustrates them, keeps them 7 points behind, keeps us unbeaten, and leaves them with more question marks over themselves then us.

We've all got to believe that this City train is going to run out of stream soon. Otherwise just give them the title now. So every point, every clean sheet and staying in the hunt is what it's all about. Keeping teams out sends a message to the teams in the league as well and we are defensively sound at the minute. But your right if we had pushed that gamble button today we might have got more then we did.

Only saw the highlights was clear to me we went for a 0-0 and got what we came for there was a reason the biggest game of the season was on last on MOTD.

I think he knows his defence isn't that strong so he makes sure he protects them against teams with strong attacks.

Didn't seem like either team was up to much.

As for Lukaku playing long balls to his head plays to Matip & Lovren's strength it doesn't expose their weaknesses which is on the floor.

I don't really have a problem with us going away vs top sides and playing for draws hopefully at home we will take the game to these sides a bit more.

Matic, Herrera and Mkhitaryan were unable to exert any control and consequently put United on the back foot.
