Hi all,

For a bit of fun a new game has been added to the forum called Pickem. There are two types of competitions:

Survivor Pickem
In Survivor you pick one team to win from the Premier League fixtures, however you cannot pick the same team twice. You will qualify to the next round if your chosen team wins or draws. You are eliminated if your team loses.

Survivor is currently closed but will be open in a few days.

Standard Pickem
In Standard Pickem you can predict the result for each fixture to earn points. Each correct prediction = 1 point. You can see how you are faring in a league table.

Gameweek 12 fixtures are available. The remaining fixtures will be added in due course.

The deadline for predictions is every Friday at 18:00.

To join a pool, navigate to Pickem from the navigation bar.



You will see the following screen:



You join the pool, then you select 'Manage your picks'.

So, it's not about predicting the right scores? I can't find a way to enter any, only select a team.

If it is just selecting a team, what about results I believe are draws?

The way I've done these things before your team has to win.

If they don't win you are out.

You basically keep going until only 1 person is left

Yeah that'll be the survivor pick em. We usually call it suicide as you kill yourself off with an incorrect pick. This isn't showing for me yet. Just the top one.

On the standard option the draw option needs to be added.

Going to be an easy win for me this, only 6 players. Just admit defeat now.

I suggest adding some prizes as an incentive.

Winner - Allowed to ban an avatar for all of time. [SuperRash]
Runner-up - Can ban any forum member for 4 weeks. [bye IDFD, you could use a holiday]

This might make them want to come and defend their forum status. More players should be the outcome.

Seriously though, games with little incentive never end up being the best.

Does the site enable forum tags? The winner could get one saying they're the winner. Or perhaps something special like for me - ETH's Nemisis.

I like the idea of an incentive. The winner of the standard game can pick their own tagline (within reason).

Yeah. It's top right. Manage your picks.

Tried that, no joy though, there are no options to pick a team. I can select the team in the standard game.
