I don't know anything about this player. I know in his last outing Lecce lost 4-0.

Not just this attempted signing, but these days I have very little faith in our scouting dept.

Our signings record has definitely scarred our fanbase! This lad is written off before he’s even put pen to paper!
 
Well the current department are responsible for

Ugarte
De Ligt
Mazraoui
Zirkzee.

Still early days but 3 out of the 4 I think have been positive signings.

The younger players they've signed to go into the academy it's way to early to tell if they've found gems.

I suspect the fee being talked about will include a decent chunk for add ons so bit like the Amad deal the up front payment will be more like £20m.

I doubt anyone really knows much about this lad.

He’s playing for a mid table Serie A club you’d have to be a serious football nerd to have watched Lecce play more than once this season.

I used to follow the European leagues a lot more closely than I do now.

Hopefully Utd have found a gem. £25m is still a decent chunk of change to be spending on a young player but let’s hope they’ve spotted a bargain.

This is when we find out how good our scouting system is.
My hope is that Amorim had him on his list when he was at Sporting, and he was an Amorim target then.
After all the lemons we've bought under ETH, I'm sceptical

Well Amorim didn’t do the scouting at Sporting.

Wilcox is likely leading that for us now with a guy who’s previously worked at red bull. Wilcox role at City was academy director so hopefully he’s got an eye for top young talent.

I think the signings made in the summer look like a step in the right direction but it’s still to early to judge any as a success or failure.

You realise neither ETH or Amorim were/are in charge of signings?
