Mazraoui can play left-back as well, it's stated in many news articles that I've read, and Ashworth's recent statement backs this up. In his last 50 matches he's started 33 at right-back and 15 at left-back. These stats seem to differ slightly depending where you check, but he has a good amount of starts on the left side anywhere you look. His average ratings are a bit higher on the right though, but only slightly. He isn’t a left back either both of them are right backs.
Whoever does that job while Shaw/Malacia are injured is going to be playing out of position to help the team.

I think the whole point in him being signed was to help solve the Shaw and Dalot problem - providing cover for the always broken Shaw and allowing Dalot to play in his preferred postion. It makes very good sense.
He was signed to replace AWB he'll be competition at right back for Dalot but like Dalot he can also do a job as a left back.
He plays at left back for Morocco because they have Hakimi at right back in club football from the sources I found he's rarely used as a left back. Bayern did use him as a left winger in some games. He has the exact same problem Dalot does which is he has to come inside meaning he doesn't give the left winger the overlap that Shaw provides.
I wonder if it's more likely we will see Martinez at left back with De Ligt coming in at centre back alongside Maguire.
