The amount of Newcastle fans who said this kid will tear up the PL in a few years convinced me he must be really special

Get me up to Gateshead ....

Isn’t Elanga expected to go the other way?

Good player but still very unproven at this level.

Do Forest need another striker?

I can only think of Awoniyi and Wood as their strikers, so perhaps make sense for them to bring in another body up top. And Nketiah would give them another option but I’ve never been very impressed by him. He has however never really got any momentum going at Arsenal, so would be good for him to get another move.

Surely Forest don't spend that sort of money on a player for the bench though? Is Nketiah better than the two they've already got? I'm not convinced.

They could have Martial for nothing after all ;)

I think Forest are like Temu Chelsea - they also don’t have a plan and spunk loads of money on players but just on a smaller scale! :p

He’s fit in really well there.

A deep lying counter attacking side is playing to his strength.

Total surprise package this season. I'm happy for them.

1998 since they've been this high up the prem.

Can they keep it up though? Will be tough IMO.

Would be amazing if they kept it going and won the league, probably wont but you never know.

Can they do a Leicester ?
They have certainly upset the apple cart, and shown so far they are not whipping boys, they are playing quite attractive football as well.

Can’t see them catching Liverpool.

From memory the season Leicester won it around this point of the season they hit the top and built a bit of a lead.

Hard to see them maintaining this form.

If Liverpool implode for some reason then they’ve got a shot. Feels like they’ve had their wobble and survived unharmed.

Good news for them though Murillo has signed a new deal to 2029. He’s been very good for them this season.

Watched them a few times recently there’s nothing special that they are doing just hard honest graft they played three at the back today too.

Elanga is doing well in a side that plays to his strengths.

Selling him was the right move and it’s good to see him doing well.

Didn’t see this season coming from Chris Wood, he’s turned into a goal scoring beast!

He’s an experienced goal scorer and they’re playing to his strengths.

Having the season of his life though

They've been quite poor today. Limited to one chance all half.

City haven't been much better mind.

Poor game to watch.

Yeah, glad they won. I celebrated that late goal more than I probably should have. Partly because it was a great start to my acca and partly because it meant City will probably lose again.

Elanga with another top performance at the weekend. Did we let him go to early? Or is he just playing for a team that is playing to his strengths and he’s having a bit of a purple patch in an over achieving team.

I don’t personally regret letting him go because he didn’t really look the part overall but it is nice to see him doing well, as he definitely did his best whenever he played for us.

5 goals and 8 assists still doesn't impress me much. That being said, he still has 9 games to get more and if he does, he'll definitely be stepping towards impressing me. Those numbers are right on the line... When he was with us I always quite liked him, but wasn't sure if he'd be good enough in the end. Always loved his ball control, probably his best attribute. Now he's added assists and some goals to that... so who knows.

It's a hard one, because Forest are in this incredible form and we just can't tell right now if this is a freak season or not. So judging Elanga is very difficult. However, our league is no joke and a lot would argue Forest simply deserve to be where they are and Elanga is a part of that.

Think he's in a system that suits him and less focus/pressure on his performance in every game. Also, probably benefits from 1 game a week.

We sold at the right time I don't think we should be looking to bring him back either.

I doubt it will be sustainable when they're in Europe next season 2 games a week will kill them physically and teams will show them a little bit of respect by letting them have the ball more and sitting off them.
