Next manager

Got to say, Scholes makes a good point about holding off on Amorim for the mo

This post is unnecessarily confrontational.

Congrats Mr Sideshow, you have passed your PL Referee exam, that ability to miss numerous sneaky/sly tackles on a player and doing nothing, then sin-binning or sending that player off for retaliating is just what we are looking for.

If you would be interested there is a place available on our elite VAR team member course, it’s very similar to our Referee course, just that you do the course blindfolded ....

A lot of thought was put into that post for little reward.

A lot of thought was put into that post for little reward.

Not at all, it was done off the cuff, thought a bit of football humour may help calm everybody down, sorry but if you didn't chuckle if only briefly when you first read it you are made of stone.

Not expecting any reward, nor am I expecting any of the numerous Moderators to accept that it happens, but it does as it does on every forum, if you want to support the team and try and be remain positive you are hounded off the forum in some instances, some times you respond, some times you get your retaliation in first.

I'm not surprised some people just give up but that just gives the hounders/bullies what they want, and don't say it's not bullying because it is.

Not sure what their end-game is, everybody trying to out-do each other being most the negative, which is music to the ABU press's ears, not that they need any encouragement ....

Going to cost 4m to get his backroom team, which is what is holding things up

I'd say for no reward whatsoever.

I think it's time to properly stamp on these individuals that are set on arguments. You know who you are.

Behave yourself, you and your constant sidekick are the worst on the forum for that.

ps. you reaching for your hankies and sucking up to the powers that be, again, is all the reward I need

Not getting drawn into anything with the likes of you ever again.

Have a good day, Dickens.

I do think they should have given Ruud the season myself, a new FT manager isn't going to do much half way though the season, especially one playing a different style of football, and I'm not sure Amorim is any more qualified than Ruud really.

The appointment of Amorim is very exciting, but comes with huge risks

I’m not sure to be honest, Amorim will have a good chunk of the season and even if this season turns out to be a bit of a bust he has the season to work with these players. That way when it comes to next season his ideas are fully integrated into the squad/club.

Great to see Ruud on the sidelines and he does give off that bit of United aura there. He just looks more of a personality and that little bit of oomph. Would be nice to see him stay on in some capacity but I would say that’s probably unlikely with Amorim having his own team of coaches.

Why let Ruud have 3/4 of a season if he isn't going to be carrying on? If he wasn't a former player I don't think anyone would be seeing this as a smart move and he seems like he doesn't want to be a manager after his experience at PSV he wants to be a coach.

The change in style is a big risk but the sooner we start working on it the sooner we will hopefully see the results and like it or not this season is almost a right off. It would certainly be a right off if we have an interim manager as players will just slack off.

At the current pace top 4 is going to be 70+ points for Utd to reach that total we need to be going at an average of 2 points per game for the rest of the season which is a massive ask.

Klopp came in at Liverpool around this time it allows the new manager to work with the players get his ideas bedded in and see who can and can't adapt then work with the sporting director to identify the key areas to strengthen in the summer.

Come on Amorim has won 2 league titles in Portugal with the 3rd biggest club who were in a right mess when he took over. He's currently top of the league in Portugal and has done well enough with them in Europe. Didn't they knock Arsenal out of the Europa a few seasons back?

I meant give him the season to see if he can do it, not automatically change things.

He did give off that aura on the sidelines, apparantly all the Leicester players were giving him the side eye as they walked past him.

On Amorim, I think you msunderstood me, I'll try and clarify. He seems an outstanding young coach, with a good philsophy, exciting football and trophies. I am very excited about him.
But it is Portugal, Ruud has knowledge of the prem, did well as PSV, travelled to spain, italy, south america learning from different teams and coaches. Just saying there might be some merit in giving him the chance and not ripping up the first team.

Seems a bit odd to spunk a load of money when the answer might be there already, give him a chance

Anyway, sounds like Amorim is done and will join during the international break. Exciting.
