Tonali's ban has now expired and he's in their squad for the league cup game tonight.

Bit of tension building between Mitchell and Howe.

Mitchell has criticised the clubs recruitment under Ashworth in a recent interview where Howe had a lot of control. Howe has defended himself now.

Sounds like these two aren’t on speaking terms.

Needed that win last night a cup run might keep Howe in a job because in the league they're struggling.

So many clubs must be fuming that they didn’t take the gamble on Isak now.

Beat Spurs 2-1. Newcastle are in a good run of form, six wins in a row in all competitions. Isak is quality and the inform striker in the league. Newcastle will do well to keep beyond this season.

Agree. Isak is type of player we are crying out for. Top class forward.

Carragher said he'd pay £150m to have Isak at Liverpool....

The player is worth a lot of money, but I'm not sure I'd pay that.

Widely reported they are under pressure to sell either Bruno or Isak in the summer due to PSR.

City reported to be interested in Bruno and Arsenal in Isak.

Didn’t see it but heard they got another VAR decision that went their way for the second goal.

Yeah VAR seem to be just allowing Joelinton to handle the ball without penalty. Two games in a row now.

Yeah Burn could have walked first half for a second yellow as well apparently.

Yep, I agree, they're far too dodgy. If it was one game maybe, but it's not.

Me making Isak my FPL captain seems to have done the trick.

Didn’t see that one coming.

Credit to Bournemouth they’re having a hell of a season.

2nd league cup final in 3 seasons for Howe.

Beating Arsenal 4-0 over the two legs is some going as both sides went with pretty much full strength sides.

They've been in great form over the last few months they'll just be hoping they can keep it going into that final and finally end the trophy drought.

In other news they're looking at building a new stadium. Mad to think that in the next 5 years we could lose St James Park, Goodison Park and Old Trafford so of the countries most iconic football grounds.

A lot of the old grounds are disappearing, and not just in the top tier, as cities and towns continually expand these places become harder to get to, or more space is required, which is why I don't understand why they have shoved Everton's new ground in a place where access is worse than it was before!

Yeah it's a shame to see the old places go but they've just reached the end of their life cycle and expanding or improving them in the current location is incredibly expensive as fans now want better facilities inside stadiums.

Most grounds had a lot of work done in the early 90's with the change to all seaters and some government support for euro 96 but that's almost 30 years ago now and a lot of the grounds haven't had much done to them since.

The only thing with new stadiums is they'll be used as a way of jumping up the ticket prices which will see more and more fans priced out of watching their team.

Big win for them yesterday beating Forest at home.

Does look like they're having a bit of a wobble lost 3 of the last 6 in the league.

He's been having a good season for them looks like he's starting to fulfil his potential and he must have been close to the England squad before the injury given our shortage of left back options.

Isak went off as well in the cup defeat at the weekend so with the red card for Gordon that means Newcastle could be missing 3 starters for that cup final in a few weeks.

With Isak and Gordon I would give them more than half a chance to beat Liverpool. Without them though I just cannot see it.

I heard a comment today that went along the lines of "They are Turkish Delight" Full of promise but lack a final crunch

More state-owned rubbish. When they do win something, if ever, it'll not be recognised. Pretty much like the whole City era.

That goal should at least force Liverpool's hand in the second half, they need a goal now. It's exactly what the game needed.

Great header by Burn.

Hard to see them coming back.

Liverpool are looking tired just like last season. Difference is this year no one will be able to catch them even if they limp to the finish line.
