Mathys Tel

Sounds like a move for anyone seems unlikely right now.

Better hope there isn’t an injury to Amad or Bruno, or we are even more up the creek than we already are!
Would say Rasmus/Zirkzee too but then are those two actually misses with how they are playing

This makes so much more sense for Spurs than it ever did for us.

No option to buy means if he's any good and Spurs want to keep him then Bayern can have their pants down for him in the summer or flog him elsewhere.

Spurs don't look short in attacking areas so it's a strange move for them.

Glad you are happy, I'm spitting feathers

Not having a pop @croady26

more curious. I've heard that phrase being used a few times for being angry.

I always thought it was being thirsty.

I just didn't see the point in chucking another kid into the mess we are in right now. If we're going down that road might as well go with someone from our own academy.

No point chucking money at a problem that can't be fixed right now.

That attack is crying out for a bit of experience not another inconsistent kid who's not scored a goal this season and it sounds like Bayern were only willing to deal on their terms.

By doing it this way the club are putting themselves under big pressure to fix that squad in the summer but that's the better time to do it.

There are still a few hours, he can't have been our only option, we badly need someone with experience to show Zirkzee and Hoijland how to score.

£5m loan fee plus £2m in wages to have a player with no option to buy is a stupid deal.

Utd were 100% right to tell Bayern no thanks on those terms.

You won't be saying that on Feb 16

Can assure you I will.

Tel has been in poor form this season and unless Spurs have injuries he will be sat on their bench for most of that loan spell.

We have enough kids with potential we did not need another one.

If you were just paying his wages maybe you do it but £5m on top is taking the p*ss.

The only winners in this deal are Bayern

Yeah £5m for an unproven talent who doesn’t really score enough goals yet is not what we should have been doing.

This season is a bit of a write off, so save those pennies for a real recruitment drive in the summer.

It is depressing knowing this is our squad for the rest of the season but it is what it is.

Baulking at £5m loan fee is truly pathetic
For a player worse than we let go on loan because the manager doesn't like him?

I will have a £100 bet with everyone that wants to Rashford will get more goals and assist combined than Tel even in Ange's attacking system.

Tel will end up as a better all round player than Rashford in my opinion.

As for who will get more goals and assists, you could never bet on Rashford doing anything with any confidence. That sums up where he is as a player, very little consistency for an experienced player.

I doubt either of them will be starting every week they'll be impact players off the bench.

People complaining about United not paying a signing on fee for him, it's really just Bayern taking the piss, wanting a few quid extra for a player.
We have enough underperforming teenagers without paying through the nose for another.

Well then show some balls and call up Obi-Martin now, not at the end of the season

That is a lot of money for someone who has barely contributed anything to Bayern this season.

I'm not totally convinced why Tottenham have done the deal unless it's just appeasing a bit of fan anger as they've already got plenty of attacking options.

Just know he scores against us
