The bottom line is it was a bad substitution and something we have done consistently. Games we have had all the possession and chances we haven't been able to kill off. Then Jose gets twitchy and wants to kill the game defensively but all it does is bring a negative attitude to the game. I don't particularly think Fellini is good enough, neither do I particularly think it's his fault.

It's not his fault he is what he is but he's nowhere near good enough to play for Utd never was and never will be

Putting him on was a big mistake and it's sadly a go to Mourinho move he bottles it all the time at 1-0 and makes a sub to hold on.

I don't disagree it probably is time for him to go. I find it strange that 3 consecutive managers seem to deem him good enough. I just think he has become an easy target. We should have been out of sight in this game before we even considered bringing him on.

I think he's still here because he's hard to shift he cost a lot of money and is on good wages I would imagine had offers come in at any time he'd have been let go. He works his way back in because he's clearly a good pro he does what he's told to the best of his abilities.

The only thing I'll say about him is he's much better when he starts but when he comes on he usually struggles to get the speed of the game and often makes costly mistakes.

Put it another way I don't think anyone other than Moyes would've even had him on there watchlist for signing players. He's a mid table player who got lucky that his manager got gifted a job and took him with him even though Moyes clearly wasn't 100% on him as he waited 2 months to sign him in desperation.

Fellaini never stepped up to Utd's level he dragged us down to his instead

Anyway I'll probably leave my Fellaini rants for now it just pains me watching this guy.

Premier League: Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea - 16th April 2017

He did well and broke up play.

He was very good. I thought he would be the millstone around the neck of the midfield today. But was pleasantly surprised to see him do so well.

Made his presence felt today. Kept things simple, was calm on the ball and used his size really well especially in taking the high balls down around the midfield area. One of his most assured and best performances for United.

He seems to thrive in big games at home where he starts I think yesterday midfield was a physical battle which suits him. Pogba & Fellaini totally bossed Matic & Kante in there matched them physically and stopped them playing which meant Chelsea had nothing through the middle.

Still think his time is up and he needs replacing but he is definitely a guy who's better when he starts than when he comes on and you can never question his enthusiasm

Europa League: Manchester United 2-1 Anderlecht - 20th April 2017

He had a positive impact.

It does affect games and it has won us games, but It''s a tactic I don't like

I just don't like watching that tactic of booting it up to a big man surely we can do better than that especially when he's reaching for it to win games it's a real gamble situation and it stinks of desperation but some times it can be effective. I still think if we'd have put Herrera on instead of Fellaini yesterday we'd have got the result just in a more entertaining way but I guess Herrera wasn't fit enough to come on.

I think the Fellaini issue for me is when he's thrown on to close out games when we are ahead it never seems to work and it's often Fellaini who makes the costly mistake especially in games where he's not liked by the opposition maybe Everton (a) & Anderlecht (a) is just a coincidence but Fellaini coming on definently sparked the home crowd into life when they were maybe a little bit subdued.

I don't for one minute dispute that he can be effective but Fellaini should be something a club like Utd have to deal with twice a season like the Delap long throw or Andy Carroll being unstoppable in the air.

Premier League: Burnley 0-2 Manchester United - 23rd April 2017

He was very good in the second half.

Solid enough but Burnley don't offer much in midfield and our 3 certainly had the better of their 2 for the full game.

Be interesting to see if it's Fellaini or Carrick in the derby assuming Pogba is fit you assume it's him, Herrera plus 1

I'm guessing it will be Fellaini probably the same team we used vs Chelsea

Yep he was doing my head in early on in first half, looked very clumsy off the ball and looked like he could make a mistake every time when in possession but defensively very good 2nd half and even looked good with the ball, some very nice touches.

Premier League: Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United - 27th April 2017

Stupid by Fellaini. He can have no complaints.

Aguero wanted it and he got it. Fellaini fell into the trap. He has been playing okay of late but now he's gone for three games which some may say is a blessing in disguise!

He was stupid but we all said it here. In the first 20 minutes when city were committing all the fouls and not getting card the fellainis first foul would be a card. What he did after that was stupid but i dont think aguerro came out of it with any credit either.

That must be the last game he plays for United. Missed the next 3 has sent off for violent conduct.

Fellaini totally stupid yes. Feel his loyal labrador type behaviour got him that though. Mourinho would not have wanted him to give up that ball. But he really should have accepted that was gone and got back in! Ah well could very well be Tara Marouane!

Thought he had gained some sense after the Everton blunder but this was worse. You just got a yellow..why are you sticking your head in? Aguero should have been carded too for starting it but Atkinson is a homer (and a blatant one at that).

He can't complain the yellow was a yellow and he made a stupid decision to put his head in on Aguero who took the bait.

Pogba injured, Fellaini banned, Fosu-Mensah injured in the last minute as well

Fellaini has let his team down in a vital part of the season

This guy has got to go he's not good enough and he's a liability for making these mistakes he's a complete sucker

Throughout the whole game, he was doing something good then undoing it. Lost his head completely for that minute. Yellow card, followed by a straight red in 20 seconds! A liability.

He couldn't compete technically with the opposition players they're miles better than he is in every department apart from strength and headers. He's to slow, his touch is poor, he can't think let alone act fast enough in these games and he's totally lost his head.

I won't use the description I used last time but this guy is so far below the level required it's unbelievable it's embarrassing that he's still here and it's a poor reflection on the management of this club at all levels post fergie that he will have at least 4 seasons in a Utd shirt. He should've followed Moyes out to the door at the end of year 1

But he does exactly what his manager asks. That is what LVG and Mourinho have said. I think he's still here next year and I am worried we lose a better midfielder who is younger and maybe more spontaneous and attacking.

I get the feeling he's had a for sale sign on him but no ones come in for him. If the signings of Blind/Bastian/Schniederlin has come off he'd of been gone by now but none of them hit it off in midfield so we're short on numbers so Fellaini stays.

I think if offers came in the summer they'd let him go but with Carrick likely to retire if he leaves as well we are short again. If he's here next season he's got to be 5th choice

Nice goal but I was overly impressed by him in the game.

He makes it very difficult for us to have meaningful possession and create chances when he's the number 10 as he can't really turn on the ball and go forward with it. He'll fight for headers and bring the good balls down on his chest but he limits what we can do when we get the ball on the deck. I also think he really struggled to keep up with the speed of their players, he wasn't the only one on the night both Pogba and Herrera were pushing their luck with lots of niggly fouls where they got caught trying to tackle on the wrong side of their men.

I thought he was our best player.

He has now scored in FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League semi finals.

I don't doubt that he can score important goals but I just think when he plays the way we play is often worse because he slows everything down, he needs 3 touches when others might take 2 and most importantly he gives others players a lazy option of just pumping the ball long to his head. When we play to his chest he's a much better player, when it's hit at his head it's often flicked on to no one because we've got no one near him for the 2nd ball. If I was being picky I'd also point out these goals are vs Hull, Everton & Celta Vigo hardly the greats of European and Domestic football.

Best player last night I thought was Pogba he was the guy providing the class on the ball and he was the guy in midfield who seemed capable of tacking the ball off a Vigo player even though he was committing a lot of fouls. To be honest MOTM would probably have been Bailly up until the 85th minute when he got sent off he was having a blinder and Romero I thought was very solid, dominated his box as well which is something De Gea doesn't do when we are facing lots of crosses he tends to stay on his line and leave it to his defenders.

My gripe isn't with him he does his job to the best of his ability and that's all we can really ask my gripe is the fact that he's even at the club in the first place.

He just feels like a square peg in a round hole wherever we put him but he can be effective at times against certain teams but are we really going to stoop to that level? Fellaini like Andy Carroll should be those players you just have to deal with twice a season not watch every week as most weeks they're not very good.

His weaknesses are well documented and he shouldn't be a regular starter for United, however he deserves more credit than he receives.

This year I do actually agree with you... Or at least certainly since the turn of the year.

We all know I'm not a huge Fellaini fan but he's played a specific role rather well when needed this year. Jose clearly identified what he could do and where he could benefit this team most and I feel like that has actually worked.

I'd still sell him in the summer though as I think it's time to move him on but he's had his best year for the club.

Lol. Has somebody taken over your body rich. I sort of agree though, i was never really the fellaini hater that some are but i do believe that when he plays regularly it dictates the way we play. I think the time is right to move on.
