Big season for Marcus.

Had a horror show last season after a brilliant season before that. That kind of sums him up in a nutshell, there is very little consistency.

Hopefully he’s hungry for the fight because I don’t think he is automatically first choice anymore.

Even if he turn up this season and bangs in 20-25 it becomes about the year after.

This feast and famine stuff has to end if he wants the big bucks it’s all about consistency.

Yeah the penny needs to drop for him that you can’t just on your laurels after a great season. To be a great player you need to back it up year after year.

I think he’s going to greatly benefit from Ruud being about the place. There have already been reports that one of his focuses is getting Rashford back to form.

No excuses this year. No niggling injury he's carrying no after effects of a long euros campaign. He has to make that left side his again and show he's our main man because if he doesn't he's quickly going to find himself sitting on the bench. We have two English lads who at the moment haven't shown they belong on the starting 11 in a long time who should be running the show for us. Instead to young players have come in and are going to jump them.

Been quite impressive in pre-season, seems to have his game head back on, he rarely gave up possession carelessly for starters, or took shots that had no chance of hitting the target

Potential match winner tomorrow

Yeah. We need our star player back to his best. I think he's going to have a much better season.

Played okay, but should have buried his two chances, and if he'd used his other foot on both he would

Not sure I saw anything particularly different from last seasons Rashford but he did play okay. He needs to have a good start to the season.

He looks like a player who is short of confidence in front of goal. Hopefully he scores a few goals before the international break to set up him for the rest of the season.

Ruud will hopefully show him how to put the ball in the net consistently.

He`s pretty good at worldies, its the easy chances he fluffs as yesterday proved.

Rashford has shown that he can finish, he’s scored 130 odd goals for United. Think it’s more of a mental thing with him. It’s imperative he has a quick start to the season following a poor one.

Yeah it’s all mental with Rashford.

When he is feeling good he is unplayable and his finishing is top class.

Needs a big season this year.

PL: Manchester United 1-0 Fulham - 16th August

Sadly, ineffective so far.

It is him giving up that drives me nuts. He has not been effective so far and to be honest Mount has been worse.

Agree regarding Rashford, however when Mount was playing furthest forward, he was the first to track back.

Bit early for a pile on in the player threads isn’t it?

Rashford has been quiet but no obvious sign to me that he’s sacking it off and not putting in the effort.

Yeah I wonder if he’s maybe starting to lose a bit of that top speed but with space in behind few players can catch him.

I liked the combination with Garnacho.

Garnacho laid one across for Rashford which the defender just cut out and Rashford returned the favour late on which Garnacho fluffed.

Don’t think he had a shot tonight but he created two very good chances for his team mates which is a positive.

Premier League: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Manchester United - 24th August 2024

Based on the first two appearances it looks like we are going to see the same Rashford as last season. He was poor.

Yes trying to take on too many players. He is not that good to take on so many players. One he might be able to get away but two? no.

Wasted a great chance by going offside was such a basic mistake to make.

Was needlessly in an offside position so many times, when he could see right across the back line. Do you drop him for Garno for the Liverpool game?

Rashford was very poor, I agree.

Think it's a little early to drop him though.

Also he likes a goal in a big game, so I don't think it's the right time.

If it was any game bar Liverpool next I’d say drop him but we know in this fixture we normally see the best of him.

I don’t think Garnacho is fully fit yet after a lot of games last season I think it’s better to easy him back in

I'm a big Marcus fan, but I think when Garnacho is up to speed, it will probably be him and not Amad who makes way
Not really sure why he's struggling so much, he's got the ability

I think he lacks motivation. A top player would be busting his gut every game.

Or.

He thinks he's a worldy. He's unhappy he's not the star man who everyone should be playing for.

Or

He's not intelligent enough to know how to play in varying situations.

Or

He's being badly managed.

I don't think it's the last one.
