Remember him being highly rated at Sporting and PSG spent a lot of money on him last summer so it's surprising that they'd think about off loading him only 12 months in.

Didn't seem to establish himself in the starting XI and was more of a squad player by the end of the season.

Given they paid around 60m euro for him and it's hard to imagine they'll be letting him go cheap.

I don’t think he will come cheap but I think £40m will probably get the job done.

He’s a strange one at PSG because he started well but then didn’t really kick on. He is the sort of tenacious ball winner we need though in the middle of the park. I think this would definitely be a sensible signing and this type of player is what we need to replace Casemiro.

He's still young so could just be he's made the wrong move as PSG do have some very good centre mids.

I did try to look at see why he lost his spot looks like the youngster than came through Emery took his spot in the midfield and he struggled to get it back.

Utd should try a loan with option to buy approach see how he gets on and if he settles in well sign him.

My preference would still be Onana, but it's higly unlikely we can get both Branthwaite and him from Everton, so I would be happy to see this guy join us. Haven't watched any games of him, but from clips and a bit of reading he looks like a great fit. Dynamic, mobile, and a ball winner, he's also got some decent passing on him. Putting him alongside Mainoo should greatly improve us.

If we can get him and Branthwaite, it would be a perfect couple of buys. Let's hope we wrap these deals up fast.

Latest reports are they want 60m euro's which is what they paid for him last summer, Utd are looking to do a deal at around 40m.

You've got to wonder if Liverpool, Chelsea, and City are still interested in him. It's a great price so you'd think at least one of them might try and steal this deal. We need to get it done.

I think Liverpool addressed their midfield last summer can’t see them spending more this summer, City aren’t really short of options either.

City are greedy though, and it wouldn't surprise me if they even tried to get him just because they know he'll be a very good player for years for us. They've had him heavily scouted I believe.

City115 tactics.

Are they greedy? City have been willing to walk away from deals they don’t like.

If they want him then we probably are wasting our time but they’ve been heavily linked to Kimmich so it may be that they’re focusing on that for now.

They were strongly linked to Paqueta as well but his betting troubles probably knackered that plan.

Well I don't keep that much of an eye on City, hate all things to do with them for being cheats.

I do know they like the player though and some reports state they have a real interest in buying this year. Barca are interested too.

So yeah, it seems they are greedy.

City don’t have a massive squad.

They keep it quite lean as Pep seems to like it that way.

I guess if they wanted a guy like Ugarte then they’d probably have to look at moving Kovacic on.

Well the good news is Barcelona don’t have a pot to p*ss in this summer so the chances of him going there are slim.

Got to be impressed by the speed things are moving on these signings now we have a board with footballing experience, this also tells us that they mean business by giving ETH the tools for the job, he has to show some serious improvements this season.

At £70m you walk away. That's what they've spent on his replacement.

I wouldn't mind having a look at that Zubimendi.

This one feels very agent talk to me, he's clearly up for sale and probably wants a move for regular first team football.

Sounds to me like he's being shopped around by his agent to everyone and if that is the asking price he won't be going anywhere. If he was worth 70m euros then PSG wouldn't be looking to sell him.

They paid 60m euro for him last summer which means for FFP they still owe 48m which is what I suspect Utd would see as their top end figure.

Do they need to make room? They may need to make money (though surely CM has to be a priority?) but I’m not sure they need to make room. Their midfield is atrocious.

They need to make room in the squad for new players.

Yeah our options aren’t great but there’s Mainoo, Casemiro, Eriksen, McT, Mount and Hannibal for new guys to come in players need to leave.

Personally I think we need 2 centre mids this summer.

Their options are awful let’s be fair. Mainoo aside that’s an awful group to select from. I think you are right United need 2 CMs this summer as they lack depth and quality.

The point was we have to move players on to bring more in.

You can’t keep adding players.

Finding buyers for what we currently have is going to be tricky.

Not good to do swap deals need to keep them separate for the old FFP.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the sort of offer that's tabled we pay 50m for this guy and they pay us 50m for Sancho if they really want him.

Utd can then book 50m of income for Sancho but only 10m of out going for Ugarte this summer.

On that subject PSG are going to have problems with FFP going forward because the new TV deal for the French league is a lot lower than they'd hoped.

They'll still have a massive domestic advantage but in Europe I think they're going to struggle which might be why they're trying to off load players like Ugarte and Simons.

Our midfield has to be the next priority for next season I’m sure they are going to get that area improved next.

Yeah as a minimum we need someone to replace Amrabat who isn't coming back according to the latest reports.

If PSG are serious about their current asking price I can't see Ugarte being an option for us or anyone, they're pricing him out of the market.

Even if you brought him back he’s a squad player at best.

Yeah but someone needs to be the squad player in the squad.

Utd for me need 1 nailed on starter to replace Casemiro and 1 reliable backup player to replace Eriksen.
