It'll still be months, yes months, before he's ready to play for us though according to ETH.

Sounds like the idiot in charge is already planning to leave him out for no good reason other than not wanting him in the first place.

Fine by me, the bullet will just get loaded when INEOS see this level of stupidity. He's playing and putting in MOTM performances, was in the Copa America best XI and has just played vs Paraguay.

He's ready to play.

Here’s the quote from the BBC:

“Manuel Ugarte did not play one minute - he needs to build his fitness. Then we have to build him into the team. I am sure he will contribute to our team. It will take a couple of weeks, maybe even a month. That is the same for a lot of players."

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Ten Hag’ comment, however people seemingly want to twist words to suit their narrative.

Rumours are he didn't want Ugarte and is sulking hence the wont be ready for a month comment.

I've already posted the video that proves he said months, not month.

It's at around 3:50. He 100% says months.

That is ridiculous.

Month or months, it doesn’t meyter, what Ten Hag said is fair. It will time for new players to adapt to Premier League, especially for those who have not had a pre season. There are many examples of players who have needed time to adapt to their surroundings. Off the top of my head, Hojlund last season.

A bit odd that he can play for his national team but isn't ready for a dysfunctional United team.

And there are plenty who don't. Bruno

I can understand anything up to a month, beyond that, no. Even then he needs to be getting some game time, so to just leave him on the bench or out of the team for that long is unacceptable.

All I'm saying is that it seems like an excuse to leave him out. I hope I'm wrong and I've took his comments the wrong way. Maybe he does just want to bed him in correctly. We shall see.

So there are plenty who do and there are plenty who don’t. Every player is different. Some players will adapt quicker than others.
Exactly, so why trot it out as an excuse before he's stepped on a pitch or even seen him in training.
It's another piece of poor work in the press.
Sometimes it looks like he's looking for excuses, cant use the injury one any more.

Just put the team out and get them to play. No other manager said that about a new signing. All the fans excited then boom.

Ruud should start doing all press

Utter nonsense. This is simply a case of an under fire manager being jumped on for even the most reasonable comments.

There is no smoke without fire - a lot of people are picking up on this not just us.

It's time the coach started listening to people and made some decisions that please fans. He's still sticking with his stubborn attitude and arrogance.

It's time he listened to the player who said: "I’m very happy, very hungry and very excited,’ Ugarte said shortly after wrapping up his move. "I feel very good, I have prepared myself. The truth is that I haven’t played many minutes since the season began, but physically I feel very good."

He's going to keep getting this sort of opinion the longer he waits. The player is clearly ready to be involved.

Of course the player will be ready to be involved however his minutes will need managing. There will be peaks and troughs until he reaches peak fitness which is what Ten Hag is referring to.

It's not an excuse ffs, just follow the presser and you will know, or should, why he said what he did

Stop making shit up

In the next 3 months he will spend 6 weeks out of 12 on international duty.

So suggesting he may need a bit of time to adapt isn’t ridiculous. You could argue it’s smart to take the pressure off Ugarte

I get you dont grasp things very quickly. So I'm going to spell this out very slowly for you. Do you understand that the board you're on about spent 3 months doing an evaluation of ETH and decided he was the man to carry on?

You either back ETH or you're against the board. They said he was the right man and you said if they say he's the right man I'll back him. Unfortunately you aren't a man of your word.

Also INEOS has nothing to do with the club. Not sure why you keep mentioning them. It isn't like Nice where INEOS brought a controlling stack. Radcliffe paid for his shares not through the INEOS company.

I really don't feel the need to defend myself against you. Honestly.

Every childish snipe you take you look more and more pathetic. People might just see who you really are without me needing to tell them.

For someone who put me on ignore, you seem rather desperate to speak to me.

Choose love, IDFD.

Even if they are having regrets over ETH,

Can you imagine how inept they would look if they sacked him 3 games in after doing their review. They cannot afford that shame

He's got until Christmas, and although I don't have much faith. He deserves that chance to turn it around.

I think we all said in the summer with the "new contract" which was basically a 1 year extension that they weren't 100% sold on him but the replacement options clearly weren't up to scratch.

Was a difficult summer for a lot of clubs finding new managers Bayern and Liverpool who both started looking in February found it hard to land their first choices and probably ended up going for a guy who might have been 3rd or 4th on the list. You also had Barcelona and Juventus looking for new managers.

My big worry with Ugarte is there's massive pressure on him now to be the man who fixes everything. This really isn't healthy and many players have drowned under that pressure I think ETH was smart to lower expectations on him. Ugarte isn't going to solve our forward missing great chances or defensive lapses in concentration.

I don't think anyone with a brain expects him to fix anything.

We aren't title contenders, but we should be in the mix for top 4.

All I want is a team that looks like they can get that, that plays football and isn't so open.

For me, his downfall, if he has one, will be goals.

Hopefully Ugarte can coach too and solve two of our problems at once.

Just think the way it was being talked about after Liverpool was Ugarte was going to be a saviour and he won't be.

As for Ten Hag yeah unless this team starts finding the net consistently then he's going to be in trouble.

2 goals in 3 games is a bad start but the chances are there but we've been very wasteful which at times was also a problem last season.

Played in both games for Uruguay over the international break including the full 90 minutes last night.

Think he will have needed that.

Can remember 2 and one of them was a real 50/50 where he came off worst.

Checked the Utd app and it said 6 fouls.

You have to take the opposition into account when judging last night but positive signs. Looks like we finally have a midfielder who is going to get stuck in and do all the dirty stuff to allow the players around him to shine. I think he will be the perfect partner for Mainoo.

Looking forward to seeing how he progresses with us.

Ugarte is going to be a folk hero with us as long as he doesn't go too bonkers - he has the feel of an Ince or Keane about him and anyone playing in front of him will feel more comfortable in their roles. I think it was quite noticeable that Eriksson was as free as a bird last night to roam and playmake as he used to do for Spurs.

A shame it took the management team two years to work it out - most of us worked it out after two weeks.

I suspect management would have liked another one in this summer as well we still look a man light in midfield.

If you think it through we’ve replaced Amrabat and McT with Ugarte and Collyer.

We’ve got two CMs who physically are nowhere near the level needed in the prem in Casemiro and Eriksen and two academy grads in Mainoo and Collyer who will have ups and downs through a season.

Ugarte is going to need to be rock solid for us this season and I expect the others to be a bit of a revolving cast around him.

Was nice to see Eriksen play like that last night, shows we can potentially rest Bruno and not burn him out.
