Rumours that De Bruyne is off to Saudi this summer.

Is he decent?

No idea but there is nothing fishy about this transfer at all.

Signed by Troyes loaned straight to Girona then sold to City.

Makes you wonder if there’s a link between the three clubs

City wouldn’t have been able to sign this guy from Girona under the same rules.

Good job he was only on loan.

Troyes fans must be fuming

I think they're smart moving him on. Foden has already stepped into that role it's his time to take over now.

He's getting injured more often and he can't do the lung busting runs anymore he's a lot more static in his play. Still world class delivery and end product but he can't do the other parts that made him one of the best in the world.

They're annoyingly good at replacing their "irreplaceable" players. Kompany, Yaya, David Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero haven't exactly been missed since they left.

There's a lot of rumours that Ederson is off as well.

Sounds like Julian Alvarez could be off.

Wants first team football and he won't get it with Haaland there so apparently he's considering a move.

He'd be a big miss for them.

United should put a bid in for him, sure our wonderful neighbours would view any United bid favourably .....

I think Alvarez is actually a better player than Haaland and probably fits better in a Pep team, however you cannot argue with Haaland’s goals and goals are a strikers currency.

Wasn’t he one of the players on the famous Ralf Rangnick transfer target list?

Atletico Madrid seem to be the ones in the driving seat at the moment.

That's a ridiculously good deal for City.

I dunno if it's fishy, maybe see if there's some favourable deals from other clubs within the city group heading to Atletico in the near future.

Alvarez is a cracking player one of the best around and with his age City can command a high price but that one caught me by surprise. I though they might get 50-60m didn't think they'd get 80m especially as I'm assuming they wouldn't sell him to another premier league club.

When you see the price paid for Antony and Mudryk maybe they can ask for that sort of fee for Alvarez and get people to pay it.

City have got their work cut out to replace him.

The initial fee is around £64m with add on lumped on top - some add ons are achievable but others might be winning the league or winning the Ballon d’or.

So I think that £64m was a fair fee initially - perhaps a little high but like jsp said he’s a cracking player. In my opinion he’ll overall become a better player than Haaland. They’ve got themselves a gem.

The hearing into the 115 charges is due to commence next month with the decision expected by January 2025.

As a result of this you only get odds of 14/1 on Man City to be relegated this season.

You would hope they would get the book thrown at them and I think there would be a revolt if the punishment doesn’t match the crime.

If found guilty then they have to be expelled from the league. If not then the integrity of the league would be in tatters.

I do wonder if they have been so quiet in the transfer market because they want to see the outcome of this case first. They’ve bought Savinho but he was already part of the City group.

Nothing at all will happen to them apart from a piffling fine.

The FA have to be careful as this could be the biggest kick start the European Super League ever dreamt of. The attitude of the 'big' clubs will be 'If City want to play in a league where rules don't count, why don't the rest of us?

Why?

I suspect pressure from government will be why the Premier League (got nothing to do with the FA) will back down and give them a slap on the wrist rather than the proper punishment.

As for starting a European Super League why would it do that? The whole point of the Super League is clubs taking control from UEFA the other top sides aren't going to want to work with City if they cannot be trusted to play by the rules. The Super League will still have a lot of regulation because Real Madrid aren't going to be in it unless the rules maintain their position as top dog which means they can't just let City do whatever they want.

Unfortunately, I think there is little if not no chance of a relegation

Points deduction I can't really see either

Probably a fine.

However, I don't think anything will happen, the City lawyers will be all over it.

Plus you need to add an appeal to either side.

Very few people think City will get any real punishment, the majority are resigned to them getting off lightly.

If they are found guilty then a points deduction will need to happen as other clubs who’ve broken the rules and co-operated with the investigation got points deductions. The penalty for cheating and covering it up has to at least be equal to the punishment for being caught in reality it should be much worse to act as a deterrent.

Wonder if that will force them to bring someone in.
