Luke Shaw | Match Discussion Thread 2024/25

While not confirmed it does have a sense of inevitability about it. He gets back into training, gets injured, rinse and repeat.

Some bodies just aren’t cut out for the constant top level demands of football. And this is the case for Shaw.

I think Rashford really missed him, they had a great partnership and he was never quite the same without Shaw behind him.
He got himself fit for England last summer, which is when I lost all respect for him and want him out of the club.

I think the euros just happened to coincide with him being ready to play again.

If you had a chance to go to the euros with your national team and maybe win it wouldn’t you go?

Yes. I would then ensure I was fit to start the season.

But what happens if in the process of getting yourself fit you get another injury? That is what keep happening to him the moment he starts to push a bit harder something goes.

I think this lads body is so broken that it doesn't really matter how hard he tries to get back something will eventually break and put him back on the treatment table.

It just looks to me like another Phil Jones situation he'll keep trying to get back and failing until that contract expires then probably retire. He turns 30 in the summer and has 2 years left on his current contract which takes him to 32 years old.

I did see a stats that Bruno has almost caught up to him in number of appearances for Utd which is made as Bruno joined in Jan 2020 whereas Shaw joined in summer 2014.

He cannot be the part of the first team plans next season if he's fit you use him but you cannot have a plan that in any way relies on this guy being fit.

Rodri is back in training for Man City after tearing his ACL in September.
Meanwhile Luke Shaw has yet to start a game for United
