Another one like Martinez that it’s imperative we keep fit for the whole season. He adds so much defensively and offensively - he’s a huge loss when not playing.

It's a constant battle with him recently, getting him back up to speed with fitness and finding form again. He's beyond useless at this point.

I think his body is finally completely breaking down. He'd probably be fine playing badmington.

He put in all that effort to get fit for his country, I wonder if this is the consequence.

We aren’t going to move him on but we need to move on from him.

Doesn’t matter how good he is when fit you can’t rely on him.

Doubt we fix this issue this summer but next summer a new left back will have to be a top priority.

Utd need to be looking at a new left back this summer.

Wages mean we are likely stuck with Shaw until his contract expires but he can’t be your first choice.

Even if he returns in October by then he’ll have missed about 20% of the season.

Reckon once Yoro is fit they'll move Martinez to left back for the rest of the season.

I feel a bit sorry for Shaw his body is clearly unable to cope with the physical demands of top level football.

Out for another 6 weeks minimum

Oh and Mount is injured again….
That’s not really being reported by any good sources so not sure he’s got another injury, I think it’s a case of not rushing him back. The last report I saw was that he could be back later this month.

Surely Malacia.

Surely Malacia.

I think they'll be very careful with Malacia given his time off.

I was thinking they might look to bed Yoro in alongside De Ligt then put Martinez in as the left back for a bit.

Calf injuries are bad. I'm dealing with one myself right now. It's a real pain in the arse.

They've got to be looking at bringing in a left back on loan in January it's getting beyond ridiculous now.

Selling Fernandez could be an ETH error

Well again that's a club decision not an ETH decision.

Was it an ETH master stroke to put a buy back clause in the deal? No it was the club that negotiated that deal.

If we're going to play 3-4-3 next season then I'd say there's a good chance Fernandez could be on his way back this summer if he keeps playing well at Benfica.

It was ETH, he said he wasn't going to give him the minutes in the first team

Yeah but surely you can see why the club had to do something.

Fernandez was going into the last year of his contract.

We have Shaw/Malacia already on the books and Amass coming through.

The deal they did looked like win win for everyone involved and an actual smart bit of business by the club.
